Revenge: MBB @ 6 P12 Net

WA is pretty good from what I hear. Mookie might play but will be so rusty from the long layoff, he might be of of marginal value for awhile. However, they do need bodies, especially bigger guys like him, so start shaking off all that rust Mookie!

Fox Sports' Allison Williams pitches 'governing body' to take control of college football's transfer portal

Proposed Solutions for Bowl Season Opt Outs

The article goes into it in more depth, but the three proposed solutions are basically:

1) Eliminate the early signing period
2) Eliminate the December transfer portal
3) Allow bowl games to pay players

What do you think - would those changes be likely to get more participation in bowl season?

No 1 Portal WR Evan Stewart

There is some gossip that Evan Stewart and UO may have mutual interest. The guy who does the On3 pods says he was photographed in a UO jersey and that Tenn. and he have moved on. Probably OAD so might not be a bad idea if it doesn't break the bank or disrupt some retention of other key WR's. Probably not "needed," but...

2025 RB Recruiting

Carlos got two 2024 sort of under the radar RBs if you include the transfer guy. Does that help set him up for a home run in 25?
Jordon Davison of Mater Dei must be at or near the top of the board for just about everyone and both Rivals and 247 have him as a TX lean. But if you look at the TX 24 RB class they have 2 high 4 star RB's.
Not that UO is limited to recruiting the west, but after Davison you have to go way down the list to find rated RB's, no 30 Karson Cox of Oak Hills.
Oh well, Carlos has proven solid at finding the right guys, but Davison is worth dreaming of.

Las Vegas Bowl (today 4:30)

Utah vs North Western

If you had told the Utah football team at the beginning of this season that they’d be playing a game at Allegiant Stadium yet again, they surely would have figured it’d take place in a third consecutive Pac-12 Championship game, rather than Saturday’s Las Vegas Bowl.

Next Year…

Next season Oregon will get to play the National Champs & runner up, plus host tOSU. Competition is stepping up for the Ducks!

Also, from the Athletic (which made me realize this bit of scheduling):

There will be a championship rematch next season — no matter how the Sugar Bowl ends

Michigan’s 2024 schedule may be one of the most impressive in college football history. The Wolverines play host to Texas on Sept. 7 and USC on Sept. 21. Michigan travels to Washington on Oct. 5, plays host to Oregon on Nov. 2 and finishes at archrival Ohio State on Nov. 30. In all, Michigan gets two CFP qualifiers, including a championship game rematch, plus two New Year’s Six teams — all in the regular season.
