What they are saying in Columbus

Score guessing for the other OSU game this coming week.

Totals so far this season, according to my calculations. Feel free to correct me. I think we will see some real movement this week unless everyone pick Oregon. If I missed you tap me on the shoulder and I'll fix it. I did this with the pen, paper, and reading glasses method.

This is going to be a tough one as I don't think there are any other games in the regular season you would probably not favor the Ducks. As I said, there could be some big changes in the standings among us this week. I haven't seen OSU play this week and won't cloud my already cloudy mind with TMI. I'm Stepping out with

Rankings Spotlight: Ohio State, Oregon on track for historic classes

The biggest game this week is Ohio State at Oregon - and they have the most five-star commitments of any school.

Gameday Thread

We got in last night and it was pretty interesting to take a walk around last night. It was warm for the most part at 9:00pm, but there were some soft cool breezes that would remind me it was fall.

To see an occasional brown leaf drop slowly to the ground with most of the leaves still green had a strange poetry in the moment.

This morning I walked around and took some pictures which I will share later. It was quiet but the line for parking into the offsite lots which started to build 2 hours before they were allowed in -- 8 hours before kickoff.

What is strange to me is the lack of a line to get into the stadium parking. When I first started doing tailgates in 2009, that line was backed up to the bridge over I5 very early. A lot of the difference is the lack of general admission parking in the Autzen area.

You could already feel a different energy.

I did see a few Ohio State fans, but I don't expect that they will start coming down en masse until probably 3-4 hours before kickoff.

A few thoughts

The ducks are bowl eligible

Ryan Day has still never lost to a BIG10ish team not named Michigan .. or Oregon, a team he has never beaten

Ryan Day has two losses as a head coach before Thanksgiving. Oregon is responsible for both. added Sunday night

Chip Kelly has never been a winner in Autzen as a visitor.

Wonder if Day's seat is feeling warm. Not winning "the Big Ones" is not popular in Columbus

Sunday Morning Sidewalk: The surreal and the unreal

Good morning #GoDucks fans. The Sunday Morning Sidewalk is up with my personal reflection on the game, atmosphere, and what it might mean not just for this season, but future seasons as well.

3-star California ATH McKay Madsen texted me while in Autzen at Oregon-Ohio State

Oregon is in his Top 3 alongside BYU and UCLA.

DUCK SPORTS AUTHORITY: How has the visit been so far, and what all have you been able to do. What is the atmosphere like at Autzen Stadium right now?
MADSEN:
"It's been awesome so far. We just drove straight from the airport to the stadium, and have been hanging out there since. We were on the field during pregame, and it was humbling being down in such a grand stadium. The atmosphere is nuts. It's so dang loud out here. Great weather, close game, and a battle to remain undefeated. It doesn't get much better than this," he told me during the third quarter.

DUCK SPORTS AUTHORITY: Tell me what's going through your head. It's absolutely insane at Autzen. And a huge, huge win for the Ducks vs. Ohio State. Your thoughts on their big performance, the atmosphere at Autzen, and the program overall.
MADSEN:
"Whatever way to win the game is the right way. That was such a surreal experience, and I'm just blessed to be apart of it in some way. Can't be sitting better than undefeated."

Jordan James, Best RB on the Field Today

He's turned into an elite back in the last two games. Might be OPOW in BIG? Compare his stats to Judkins and Henderson. Sorry Bucknuts. It could be NFL for JJ after this season if he keeps this up. Dude has it all.
