Emarrion Winston film review

Taking a look at his sophomore film with Central Catholic.

  • plays a lot of 5 technique DE for them and appears to be their best pass rusher. Pretty good for a sophomore
  • shows good instincts takes good angles to the ball
  • will play stud or OLB for Oregon most likely from as he will be more in that size range
  • will be interesting to see hwo he plays from two-point rather than a three-point stance
  • obviously from his film very athletic
  • always wonder about the level of competition in OSAA but they play the top teams in the state
  • we know other Winstons who worked out just fine

Thank You T&F Class of ‘20

My heart goes out to the athletes who excitedly looked forward to their final season being in the new stadium. I am so sorry that it will not be happening for some of the Oregon track athletes.

Certain college sports’s cultures are unusually special... Oregon Track is one of those programs. It goes beyond the impressive list of NCAA team and individual titles. There is something unique in the tradition, the competitive culture and in the passionate and knowledgeable Oregon track and field fans.

To say that you competed for the University of Oregon track and field team is something very special indeed. Track and Field has always been the pride of The University Oregon.

NOTE: On Nathaniel Wiggins...

This is what I have gathered over the weekend.

Four-star ATH Nathaniel Wiggins will announce his commitment August 28, his birthday, and although he still says he has anywhere from 5-10 schools in the mix, based on what I am hearing from sources, it is really down to three, maybe four schools.

What I was told by more than one source was Wiggins REALLY does like the idea of playing on the west coast. Oregon and USC are high on HIS personal list for sure, but he has many in his ear. Those closest to him like the schools closer to Atlanta much more so they can see him play at least half of the games.

I am hearing USC is likely 4th right now on the list when taking everything into consideration.

Oregon is the school Wiggins REALLY likes, and has really connected with the staff I am told. That said, it is across the country, so that does hurt the Ducks.

Florida and LSU are the two others I am hearing a lot about that are much closer to home than Oregon and USC. The Gators are in this, but I am hearing LSU is the team to beat six weeks out from the decision.

Corey Raymond is involved, the LSU history at DB helps big-time, and the Tigers look to be the school others are chasing TODAY.

We will see if anything changes in the coming weeks, but for now, based on multiple sources and putting things together from those, I list the schools like this:

1. LSU
2. Oregon
3. Florida
4. USC

Alabama, Clemson and Georgia appear to have decided to go other directions right or wrong. I do not think Wiggins is recognized like he should be as a top recruit personally. He is very lean, so he will need to add muscle and strength for sure, but he is a long, rangy athlete with speed and explosiveness.

Ryan Day, tOSU

I was reading about him recently when there was still a chance and hadnt realized he had spent at least some time at Oregon...but it didn't say when or and what capacity. Wiki says he played at NH and I guessed he was coached by Chip Kelly and started as a grad asst for him at NH..and then UO? Anyone know more about his time at Oregon? He inherited a great situation and has done really well with it. My guess is Chip probably deserves some mentorship credit here, but his popularity has sunk so much... maybe that's why he doesn't get it? Anyone have any thoughts info on this/? And btw, I thought they were at least the 2d best team last yr, an Clemson got damn lucky.

Eval 2d yr coaches

Ryan Day -- 2019 record: 13-1 |2020 CBS Sports Coach Ranking: 10 (+35) | Outlook: Other coaches have to be envious of Day not only ascending the to head spot at one of college football's blue bloods but doing so in the wake of Urban Meyer's total infrastructure installation. Strength and conditioning, player personnel departments and several key assistants remained in place as Day delivered on the promise of continued success with arguably the most successful season since the Buckeyes won the national championship in 2014. Ohio State reached the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff Rankings and provided the most competitive foil to LSU during the Tigers' title-winning tear. As the argument went, LSU was the offensive juggernaut while Ohio State was the more complete team. As 2020 looms ahead, the Buckeyes begin back in that one-two debate, this time with a Clemson program that prevented Day from winning it all in Year 1. Right now, it's nearly impossible for Day to exceed expectations because everything on and off the field points to national championship-contention, and anything short will be a disappointment.
