The real cost of losing non conference games

Losing the non conference games really hurts player development this upcoming year, if we do indeed get to play. The non conference schedule was extremely important to the 4 game redshirt schedule. Guys like Brandon Dorlus really got to show they were capable and ready to play during those times and he became a valuable reserve down the stretch. Without those games, it may make it more difficult to get real game action for a lot of young guys who otherwise would have played. Thoughts?

For those who want to know

My sister in law has officially tested negative now for the Corona Virus. The irony is that she got tested again this past Monday and was apparently really sick. But as of yesterday she said she was beginning to feel better.

Based on what she said, this thing sounds awful. She said her throat hurt so much that it hurt to breathe let alone swallow anything. She couldn't walk up one flight of stairs without having to sit down and rest (and this is a woman who runs 5 miles a day like it's nothing). She had a fever of about 103 for about 10 days straight.

She said the breathing was the worst part of it. You're afraid to go to sleep at night because you're having so much trouble breathing.

All's well that ends well I suppose though. I just hope she doesn't have any lasting effects from the virus.

My Take on Fall FB

In case you care....

1. Best case....we have FB with no fans.
2. Medium case....it moves to the spring
3. Worst case...the season is canceled.

My take is that it will be moved to the spring.

However, is it gonna be any better then? (people finally change their habits or we get a vaccine?)

Lots of folks thought that it would be better by July....just saying...something has got to change 'cause the virus would be "happy" to be around for a long time.

Thank you mods

I know it’s been tough to gauge the right amount of intervening recently. I appreciate the work you guys are doing to keep this a relevant board with so many topics that shuffle between sports and politics. I think everyone needs to give these dudes a break and bite your tongue at times. Pretty obvious there’s not a lot of “winning” happening in these arguments. I appreciate the different tone in conversations between a few of us who had been arguing a lot earlier. Taking the us vs them out of it, making it less about politics and more about perspective, and just listening really does help. Not to get too kumbaya or anything I just really appreciate the job these fellas are doing on here and we should all respect this space and it’s purpose.

Just a reminder: Keep it on civil

Not everyone is going to agree on a topic, but the moment you personally attack someone and stray away from the presented conversation, you are ruining any chance for an actual discourse.

Don't be like that.

Show a little respect for others, even if you disagree with their point. Attack the point, not the person.

People may not appreciate your viewpoint or takes, but outside of being hateful/rude/political, you are free to share your thoughts as you wish.

If you can't follow the rules and instigate these situations, you will have your ability to post restricted for a while.
