Minnesota running back Mar'Keise Irving has committed to the Ducks today. He led the Gophers with 966 all-purpose yards as a freshman in 2021. He rushed for 699 yards and scored four touchdowns plus he is a special teams player who was the kickoff return man for Minnesota last season. He'll have three seasons of eligibility left.

Pritchard Gives Some Solid Minutes in Celtics Win

Marcus Smart is injured. they should have given PP more minutes imo. White's stat line not very impressive, at least his shooting.

Rundown: Jurrion Dickey is set to make his announcement this evening as he is down to a final five that includes Oregon, Washington, USC, UCLA and Penn State. As Brandon mentioned, that final five was really a final two as three of the schools on the list aren't very involved. Oregon has been the heavy favorite for a while now and holds 100% of the Rivals FutureCast selections right now. Full disclosure, I spoke with him earlier today but he requested that I hold off on posting a story about his decision (even a general preview) until after the announcement. I did speak with him about all the schools on his final list and it's clear that two stand out above the rest. Oregon has all the momentum right now. Though, he also really spoke highly of UCLA in our conversation.

I'll have more shortly after he announces with some insight into his decision.

New 2023 QB offer goes out

Interesting timing for this offer with Dante Moore wrapping up his weekend official visit, but the Ducks have offered 2023 Rivals250 quarterback Avery Johnson this evening. The 6-foot-2 recruit visited Eugene earlier in the year and has been on the radar for Oregon for a while, so the offer isn't completely out of left field. He has close to two dozen offers on the table from schools across the country. The thought has been that he will ultimately stay closer to home in Maize, Kansas but Oregon is one of the schools out west that seems to have his attention. Notre Dame, Nebraska, Iowa State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Arkansas and Tennessee are some of his other offers. Arizona, Arizona State, Washington and Washington State are the other Pac-12 schools that have offered him up to this point.

He feels like the type of quarterback who could fit in well with what the Ducks want to do offensively under Kenny Dillingham. Florida State was one of the first schools to jump in the mix with Johnson last summer. So, there is a bit of a connection there.

NIL: THE SH#T JUST HIT THE FAN

Did I ever mention that I hate the NIL and the Portal? Thought so.

SO.....now a player's agent, for the first time ever...at least openly, lol...has told a school that if the player doesn't get more money, the player is gonna leave.

I wonder what took so long for this to happen.

The article is too long to post here, so I am posting a paragraph or two and adding a link.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-b...a-mature-team-and-winning-the-national-title/

"College sports' name, image and likeness landscape took on a grenade Thursday night when Miami guard Isaiah Wong's NCAA-approved agent went on record to make a threat, the likes of which had never been said on the record in college sports history.

"If Isaiah and his family don't feel that the NIL number meets their expectations they will be entering the transfer portal tomorrow, while maintaining his eligibility in the NBA draft and going through the draft process," Wong's agent, Adam Papas, told ESPN.

In other words: Pay up or we're out.

What took so long? Athletic directors and coaches have been griping, mostly privately, that something like this was bound to happen. That sound they heard was Pandora's Box cracking allllll the way open, its contents and potential consequences spewing across the NCAA.

"Insanity!" one power-conference coach texted within minutes of the ESPN.com story being published."

Visit reaction: 5-star QB Dante Moore's dad recaps Oregon OV -- "Blown away again."

Five-star quarterback Dante Moore (Detroit, Michigan) used his second official visit on a trip to Oregon over the weekend. He used his first OV on a trip to LSU, and he is beginning to make some headway when it comes to a decision. Moore has previously visited Oregon, but the official visit gave the team another opportunity to build its relationship with the No. 6 overall recruit in the class. The Ducks have continued to become a bigger part of the conversation with Moore, and so I spoke with his dad, Otha, about the visit and where things stand now. It's clear that Oregon is going to remain a big part of this process with the 2023 prospect.

“The staff, and it’s Oregon. That’s why. That’s major. Lanning is a hell of a recruiter. He puts people in the NFL. Oregon is a great fit. The offense is similar to what he runs right now, because he runs a college set in high school. Everything just fits like a glove. Fits well.”

This is not in the story, but I wanted to make an exclusive for you all here on the message boards. I asked Otha Moore how NIL is going to play into the upcoming decision for his son. He was as open as one could expect the father of a highly-touted five-star recruit to be with his answer. He emphasized that it will not be everything but will still be part of the decision-making process. Here is his extended comment on the NIL conversation surrounding his son's recruitment.

“I tell everyone this, there’s no price you could put on Dante’s head, because I know at the end of the day and you know at the end of the day, if you’re not producing you’re not anything,” he said. “If you’re sitting on the sidelines, you’re nothing. We’ve seen what some of these quarterbacks do. They get this money, they go places because of money, and what do they do? They ride the bench.
“We’re not trying to ride the bench. We’re here to compete to win a national championship and the Heisman Trophy. National championship first, Heisman Trophy second because he’s a team player. ... He just wants to be able to compete. There’s no price that I think could be put on his head, because at the end of the day if he gets to those two levels we already know what he can make.
“NIL. We know that it’s a business aspect. We totally agree with that. It’s a business aspect, but I can see my son choosing somewhere that will be less tag price than someone else that offers high price. He wants to go where it’s the best fit, great coaching and a chance to win both of those awards that I said.
“He feels that he can do that at Oregon. He feels that he can do that some other places, and that’s why we’re narrowing it down. It won’t be a top five, it won’t be a top two. He’s not a flashy quarterback, he’s a team player first.”

Duck baseball vs Cal series

Ducks took Game one tonight 7-2. Nice rebound after losing the last two to WSU and a close game to the beavers on Tuesday. Ducks need this series bad to stay in the conference hunt as they sit tied for third right now. Game two tomorrow. Cal is not a strong hitting team but is good at pitching. Anthony Hall had 5 RBI’s and continues to have a very strong year. Ducks will look to clinch the series tomorrow
