NFL Draft winding down…

…and VMIII is still on the board. It’s midway through the seventh round I’m actually shocked that Verone wasn’t picked yesterday!

TONS of other DB’s have come off in the 6-7th rounds.

3 star in state walk on

Maybe this was already posted, so sorry if I just missed it. A pretty impressive bevy of PWO's. Got to love CCHS. I bet at least 1-2 of these guys develop into good players.

Kodi Decambra has officially dropped his top six today and Oregon has made the cut along with Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon State and Washington. The Ducks are the heavy favorite to land the high three-star prospect from Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas. He's made multiple visits out to Eugene and has a really strong relationship with the staff. At this point he's planning to make his decision before his senior season.

Arizona State, Mississippi State and Washington State are a few of the schools that have now been cut from his list.

Visit reaction: New York DT Tyriq Blanding impressed by Oregon's coaches

Tyriq Blanding made the long trip from New York to Eugene over the weekend as part of a Northwest swing that brought him on campus for a couple days with the Ducks. He was able to watch the spring game and meet up with Seven McGee all while building a stronger bond with the program overall. Blanding says he speaks with Tony Tuioti daily, and they have built a good connection so far in the process. Oregon really left him impressed and the meeting with McGee proved to be especially important since it gave him some confidence that a move from New York wouldn't be as challenging as he thinks it could be.

Watching the team work with the new coaches really was a highlight for him, though, and it is something that has stuck with him since leaving campus.

“Seeing them go to work it was really good. They’re not the type of coaches that are yelling all the time. I was talking to them, and they don’t believe in that yelling stuff. They’re calm, everybody listens to them. When they talk everybody listens, and you really learn a lot from them. I got to learn new techniques, and they’ve seen my film. We were going over my film, and I really learned a lot from them.”

Visitors last weekend

Good evening all,

As Brandon noted in the other thread, I spent the better part of the last 10 days cleaning out my house in South Carolina then driving back here in a Uhaul. My apologies for a lack of presence during that time.

I know that it would be great if we had a full list of visitors, but one staff member told me that there were over 170 expected visitors and i just did not get a full list. There were nearly 30 I had as planning to visit, not all of them made it. Here is the list of planned visitors:

I know that there were a LOT more visitors in Eugene, but this is the list of expected visitors - of note - for the game.

Visit reaction: Colorado EDGE Blake Purchase sets Oregon official visit after spring game

Blake Purchase enjoyed his first visit to Oregon so much that he's going to return this summer. The Colorado-based edge rusher was at the Ducks' spring game over the weekend marking his first visit with the program. He really enjoyed his time getting to know the program and has already set an official visit to see the school again the last weekend in June. Assuming that sticks and he he ends up visiting Oregon that weekend it will be the last official visit he can take before the start of the season. His plan is to make his college choice this summer. That's obviously an important deal for the Ducks and for Purchase. He's now visited all the schools he says are in contact the most with USC, Iowa State, Washington, Cal and Colorado making up that group.

He has really hit it off with Tosh Lupoi and has a lot of respect for what the Oregon defensive coordinator has done in the past during his coaching career. Overall, the Ducks have made a big move with Purchase this spring.

“Right now Oregon is definitely a top school for me. It’s gonna be a top option just from that visit. It really just solidified everything in my mind that I really I have already have heard about them. Actually getting out there, yeah, Oregon will definitely be a top option for me in my recruiting.”
