QBs highlight Tuesday's Holiday Bowl press conference

Mack Brown had heaps of praise for Oregon and quarterback Bo Nix during Tuesday's pre-Holiday Bowl press conference, and Dan Lanning showed the same level of admiration for UNC's Drake Maye. Both players are set to be two of the top returning players at their position next season, and the matchup awaiting them Wednesday night in San Diego ended up being a big part of the conversation Tuesday.

Jalen Catalon

Arkansas safety and 2020 SEC first team DB entered the transfer portal in the last week. He has missed two seasons with a shoulder injury, but when healthy, he is an elite safety.

He is originally from Mansfield, Texas, and I know that Powledge has a good relationship there and Oregon would absolutely love to look at him as an option moving forward.

PEYTON BOWEN IS PRETTY COOL

He or his agent...

The wild recruiting saga of four-star safety Peyton Bowen came to an end Thursday when he signed with Oklahoma on Thursday, one day after he flipped his commitment from Notre Dame to Oregon. Bowen had been a longtime Irish commitment before his stunning flip to the Ducks on National Signing Day. But Bowen wasn't done and flipped again Thursday when he made the announcement that he will join coach Brent Venables' Sooners in a post on Twitter.

"As I reflect on yesterday's whirlwind, I recognize that I made some mistakes that I regret and will learn from," he wrote. "Navigating this process has been a rollercoaster. With that being said, I also know that I was blessed to be in the position to consider multiple wonderful universities as I continue my football career.

"Soon after choosing Oregon yesterday morning, I came to the realization that the direction was not the best path for me. I immediately started to rethink my future."

Bowen also offered an apology to Notre Dame and Oregon.

"Oregon and Notre Dame faithful, I am sorry for how I handled this process," he wrote. "Changing my decision on Signing Day, the hat pump fake, all of it could have been handled better. I can't change what I did, but this experience is something that I will learn from."

QUAAAACK: Oregon lands its latest 4-star for 2024

Two-way athlete Jordan Anderson has announced his commitment to Oregon today becoming the third four-star recruit to give the Ducks his pledge in the class. Anderson is a top-65 prospect overall from California who could legitimately play on either side of the ball in college. He's expected to come in as a receiver for the Ducks, however. I watched him a few times this season and he was impressive in each game. He's liked the Ducks for a long time and yesterday's explosion on signing day pushed things over the top for him.
