Here is the roster for the Army AA game which is in San Antonio the week after the Alamo Bowl.

I am going to stay for a couple extra days after the Alamo Bowl to catch a couple of the Army practices and to interview the guys of Duck interest. I have a list put together but...who would you like to hear from?

Carrington lost one of his best life long friends, a high school teammate who was down at New Mexico playing ball. Markel Byrd was driving home for Christmas with his girlfriend with the tire blew out on his car and he was ejected from the vehicle. GF looks like she will make it, but Byrd was gone on site.

We've gone over this several times in the past year but I'm looking at it again this week. Let's say the Ducks have a full complement of 85 scholarships. How does this allocation look to you guys?

Due to a sprained MCL . . . per the Mort Report and Schefter . . . although HC Mularkey just said during a press conference it's possible he could play in final game of year.

Bummer.

What do you all think about the prices for the Alamo Bowl? I have everything booked except the tickets right now and am wondering if I should wait to buy tickets or buy them now. Normally I would have already bought tickets but since this is not a playoff or major bowl game, I have waited. Only thing is that I am unsure if it is a smart bet to wait until closer to kickoff or to grab them now since TCU will have a lot of fans there due to their proximity to San Antonio. Also, where is everyone sitting for the game? I know where the Oregon side is but would be curious to see where people are getting their seats.

Whew. What a weekend.

So, my wife is a lifelong 49ers fan (born and raised in Yreka), but had never been to a live game... so for christmas I took her down to her first ever NFL game... we left Portland Friday just before noon. Because of weather, we decided to take 101 all the sway down (and as it turns out, all the way back as well!). That first night we stopped for the night in Crescent City... a glass of wine at the beach is always good...

Went to Santa Clara the next day taking the scenic route through SF...

The hotel in Santa Clara really took care of us... free cocktails from 5:30-7:30... breakfast included an omelet station... The game day was a lot of fun. The 49ers honored their 81 and 88 championship teams which meant that Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and Ronnie Lott were on hand... really cool for her to be there for that as her first game!

Then... Some wine after the game....

Today. Yikes.... I forgot to take my computer and have an article to write... so I drove straight through... all the way up 101 to Florence before cutting over to I-5. All told I drove 765 miles today... averaged 55 mph the whole way (my car gives great statistics!).

A certain dog was pretty happy to see us... even if he did track mud everywhere while we were gone!

The 49ers suck this year, but they made a game of it at the end...

Now, a couple of days to relax before heading over to the coast for Christmas!

And, the best part of the weekend for me, Safeway had a Club price on a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label... $70 off! Needless to say, I got this as my gift:

A while back, I posted on respected DC's who could be considered suitable for our program. One of these was Dave Arand, Wisconsin's DC. Today, ESPN tells of "rumors" that Aranda is being sought by a number of programs, including SC.

As the article states, Aranda is a West Coast guy (California). And while SC is the one the article is focusing on, there's nothing to except our Ducks from being in the hunt as well.....I hope.

Kyler Murray, the QB Helfrich was the most in love with out of high school, is trying to leave Texas A&M. His final college decision was Between A&M and Oregon. Could sit out a year and then take over for Prukop.

He looks like Vernon Adams, runs like Prukop, and throws like both of them.
Can the Ducks have too many QBs?

Congrats to Jared, Brady, and Lamar

I leave for a few days and the Ducks get three commits!!! I'm on vacation with my wife for a week and when we booked this a year ago thought it would be a lull time for Duck sports before heading to the bowl game. Well maybe there just isn't a lull time anymore!

Anyway we'll be back in a few days although between now and then have very little internet it turns out. You guys are in good hands with Brandon and Scott. Keep them honest while I'm gone! And Go Ducks.
