Scott, I am wondering how these new developments with Boykin affect your prediction. I would assume this shifts things further to our advantage. Nice article though.

I just read an article stating Rahshaun Smith has us in his top 4, but most likely will stay closer to home, and also read the De'jon Harris is still considering us, although most likely headed to Arkansas. Both have Oregon offers BTW.

I was just wondering if anyone had any further info. Besides it's the dead period, so some speculation is in order, lol.

The four-star from Elk Grove (Calif.) Franklin said Oregon is back in it along with USC, Nebraska, UCLA and Arizona State. He will visit sometime in January before a decision late that month.

It's being reported that Nevada will name Tim Cramsey, former Offensive Coordinator at Montana State, as its new OC.
When Cramsey remained unemployed, I thought he might have a deal arranged with the Ducks. Nope.

To me that means Nate Costa is the definite front-runner for the open offensive position. It's just a question of what position -- QBs or WRs -- Nate and Matt Lubick coach.

I know most of you think Costa should coach QBs [as he's now doing to prepare for the Alamo Bowl], but it would be extremely difficult [impossible?] for Lubick to coordinate the offense while coaching WRs. I think Costa [and others] will help teach Lubick QB mechanics in the off-season.

To me, Nate Costa, with Matt Lubick as Offensive Coordinator, is a GREAT hire.

While contemplating Nate Costa's coaching future, I remembered two other GAs who jumped immediately to varsity jobs:
Mark Helfrich, from GA at Oregon to QB Coach at Boise State.
Justin Wilcox, from GA at Boise St. to LB Coach at Cal.

I have no idea about the other candidates, but I'd be very happy if Helfrich promoted Nate.
