Recruiting Tidbit

So, Nick Pickett put out this tweet that everyone probably saw:

What I can say is that the silent commit to which he spoke was NOT Thomas Graham. Nick knows who it is and is not yet willing to say specifically who it is. I talked to him tonight and a couple of things I can sy about that:

1) It is not Rahyme Johnson, I spoke with Rahyme and he has not heard from Taggart or Leavitt and appears to be ready to move on
2) It will not be known until signing day

This also seems clear to me that the silent is also not Lenoir.

I also spoke with Kaymen Cureton (since some wanted to jump to the conclusion that it might have been him based on his own response to Pickett's tweet); it is not. Cureton tells me he has not heard from Taggart yet.

Who is it? Not positive enough to release a name or even speculate regarding some of the names I have heard; but suffice it to say, there is still a silent commit out there and it is not a 'ho-hum' recruit.

Let's Talk QB's

In a couple of threads there is a discussion of '18's Thompson-Robinson, a dual threat from Bishop Gorman who was apparently dying for an offer from UO. He has one now from WT. For what ever reason, the previous staff put all their eggs in the Yankoff basket. How much is this a difference in the type of QB the two staffs want? Will we see a different type of QB being offered than with the last staff, more of a runner who can pass than a passer who can run the read-option?

I also wonder how sold WT is on Herbert? The consensus has been that he will have the job until he goes to the NFL. WT's first visit after saying the best way to improve is through competition was a dual threat for 17 TT (who has a ticket for Alabama Jan. 1 in his pocket).

Obviously, we need a new approach the recruiting the position (and all positions), but just what does anyone know about the depth chart for next year? Does WT know what Wilson and Jonsen's plans are? We can't afford to be in the situation where Alie has to play. Most programs will have at least 4 scholarship QB's.

Altman Post Game, Boucher's Ankle....

Injured in practice. Re sprained ankle..landed on Bell's foot. Won't play vs FSU, nothing said about the ankle beyond that. With his noticeable limp, I'm not optimistic for UCLA.

Love the guy's demeanor. Lot's of ways to be a "face of the program." Calm but confident.

An interesting Taggart/Oregon connection

Okay, looking at Taggarts previous assistant coaches at Western Kentucky, I came across this name: Terry Obee.

Obee, a former Duck and 8 year NFL veyeran, was an assistant strength coach at Stanford while Taggart was there... And Taggart had him come to Western Kentucky where he coached running backs for a season and wide receivers for two seasons.

He left coaching but stayed at Western as an instructor in the Sport Management program.

Just a coincidental connection to Oregon past...

need a little help

Hey guys, when I try to read the recruiting board (Casanova center), all I can get is old posts going back to July, 2015. No longer interested in Bryce Youngquist.

I am on page 1, but so far nothing has worked when trying to get todays posts, or anything else posted recently. First Duck Club is working fine.

Any ideas?
