Weekend nugget

Small grains here

- Taggart put the team on lockdown, so don't expect too many leaks from coaches or recruits. The rest of the announcements will be coordinated

- Lenoir is in Blades' ear big time this weekend. Its why he canceled his Mississippi State trip

- Hearing that several former Arizona commits were close to Greg Johnson and are working him very hard right now. He is not entirely out of play.

- Verdell is rumored to be in town, but the picture floating around is an old picture is from his OV and not today. Don't think it matters, though, he is solid.

Will update what I can later.

Death Penalty for Baylor?

I know it already been reported here that Baylor is in the soup again, but if the allegations are true, does this put Baylor in danger of the Death Penalty?

I don't know what the rules are but it would sure seem so.

Consider these allegations: 52 acts of rape......5 gang rapes of which two had 10 or more rapists...attempted cover up/hush up by the Administration, allegations against coaches, Lousiville like "hostesses", etc.

So I am asking smarter minds than mine...if the allegations are proven true...is that Death Penalty material?

I bet Rhule wishes he never took that job (Lubbick too?).

I know they are insulated against these charges but, shoot, who would want to work there and have all of the stuff coming down on you all of the time.

Not I.

Question about hosts and visitors.

How much 'free time' do PSA's and hosts have? What kind of training do hosts get (don't do these things)? What are the rules regarding unofficials (can they participate in group activities with officials and staff)?

With todays culture, diverse backgrounds and lifestyles, and instant worldwide distribution of pictures via the interweb, a public relations disaster is a 'send' away. I remember the picture of PSA's, hosts, 'neighbor girls' and a bong a couple of years ago and the ultimate in stupidity: Onterrio Smith taking Lynell Hamilton (Christian from Christian family) to a party and the parents going ballistic because their son was around/offered drinking/drugs (maybe more-we had a 'hostess' team that got some publicity a while back).

Lenoir

Rivals says:

USC had been also emerging in recent weeks but it looks like the Trojans are no longer playing a significant factor at all in his recruitment. At this point, it does not look like USC and Lenoir are going to be a match.

So...it's Ducks vs Nebraska.

Who does CWT look towards if Lenoir does not join the Ducks?

Thursday recruiting travels and news...

OK obviously the big news for yesterday was the commitment of Cyrus Habibi-Likio.

He has been heavily leaning Oregon for a few months until last night when he told the coaches during their in-home that he would be a Duck. One of the ways we judge interest level is that not only Cyrus but also his whole family follows us on Twitter since November. So this has been brewing for a while.

The entire Duck staff was down in Northern Cali yesterday actually. We kind of chronicled that yesterday as they were heading west. Here they are with Coach TMP Elite, a NorCal recruiting insider.

Coach Taggart popped in to see Popo Aumavae in Stockton.

Coaches JimmieD, Pimpleton and Woodie did their NorCal version of "O's Across America". Or something.

And Coach Salave'a was reduced to making Pepsi runs for Leavitt.
