The Duck men finish day one in first place
with 51 points and UCLA in second with 45 points. UCLA and UO are very different in that they are strong in different events. So look to the form chart. Oregon has out performed the form chart. I think that the men’s 100 and the 4x100 will be good to Oregon. I am optimistic about the Oregon men’s team chances to pull off a 13 th straight conference title. Remember they came in underdogs to UCLA... but there is still a lot of track left and anything can happen

The Duck women need to have a big day tomorrow... and they just might. No prediction, but we have some great distance runners that will be stepping on the track both later tonight and tomorrow.

is the women’s 1500 between Oregon’s Jessica Hull and Washington’s Katie Rainsberger. Rainsberger was the biggest recruit in the country when she came to Oregon. She chose to transfer with her coach to Washington. Jessica Hull elected to stay at Oregon and waved good bye to her coach. They are old teammates but now they are representing different programs. Rainsberger had the faster prelim time .... got to see this one.

I will be on the road for a quick trip to Michigan. My son and daughter-in-law are graduating from law school this weekend. Not a long flight, so should be up there in the afternoon; coming back Sunday.

Should be a fun weekend. Will be around some early in the morning and late at night, but if I hear anything earth shattering, I will pass it along (the magic of smart phones).

Interestingly, when AJ or I go on a trip, it seems like there is a commit while we are gone; that may hold true this time. We should travel even more! LOL

Before Cristobal and his staff left Southern soil, he came away with an exciting realization.

"We've closed the gap considerably," Cristobal said. "We have gained so much ground toward what we want to be."

Some chatter on Twitter that Ge'mon Eaford is seeking a transfer for personal reasons. He's still on the Oregon official roster and I've seen nothing here.

Can anyone squelch this rumor? An athletic linebacker with good size and a bright future--it would be a shame to lose him.

If they gain commitment from Jay Butterfield and Johnny Wilson, the Ducks are getting a tandem that could become the core of a very explosive offense.

I like the way these coaches recruit with communication, honest relationships and smart pivots. They are putting together another very solid class, and if they add some defensive talent like Sav'ell Smalls and Noah Sewell to cap it off, their rise to the top of the conference and national competitiveness will take another giant step forward.

You build a championship program with relentless effort and a sound blueprint that includes great scouting, tireless recruiting and topnotch facilities and strength and conditioning. Missing out on Uiagalelei is momentarily disappointing but it doesn't defeat the plan or the process.

I guess it's not rocket science that Pritchard and Wooten were not invited, which is probably telling.
If Pritchard had played the entire season the way he ended it one must think the outcome would have been different.
Wooten needs a better offensive game. Pritchard, maybe quicken his jump shot release. Those 2 at least give Altman core leaders to work with.

Maybe I'm naive and this goes on all the time, everywhere. Perhaps other school's are more subtle and bring the player into the U's "family" after the PSA is gone and not playing anymore, but this is pretty dang flagrant.It's worth listening to Bilas and the next pod cast.
At any rate, I sure hope AZ's recruits are soon up for grabs.
