In an effort to get everyone acclimated to a 12-team playoff and how it would work, I propose we try to form a playoff committee and seed the 12-best desserts.
Here's how I would rank them. Please submit yours and we'll determine the final 12.
1. Marionberry pie
2. Warm chocolate brownie with a scoop of Tillamook vanilla ice cream
3. Strawberry shortcake, fresh whipped cream, homemade biscuit
4. Watermelon, served cold, with seeds
5. Peach cobbler
6. 4 squares of dark chocolate with a glass of red wine
7. 3 chocolate chip cookies, still warm from the oven with a glass of cold milk
8. Chocolate mint Yasso bars
9. Skip dessert--nothing enters this temple except protein shakes, brown rice, sweet potatoes, chicken breast or albacore tuna
10. Chocolate pudding
11. Raspberry sorbet
12. Lemon meringue pie
Others receiving votes: Greek yogurt with frozen mixed berries, vanilla pudding, chocolate cake
Relegated to the FCS: Oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips, butterscotch pudding, tiramasu, baklava
Hall of Fame inductee: my mother's lemon chiffon cheesecake (recipe upon request)
Playoff format: 1-4 get first round byes. 5-8 host a first-round playoff game in their home kitchen
