Big hire. Whether we like it or not, USC has to be relevant for the conference to get recognition.

They really grill Donte on stupid stuff like "where were you when you heard of the hire," what's it like in the locker room re the new hire,..". Granted, he could have done a better job of shutting them down, but damn, just let him coach his next game.

The O says it's on the P12 Network at 7, but it doesn't show up when I try to record it. Not that bit a deal, as I'll be recording UNC vs Mich at the same time. P12 N says it's showing a rerun of the UCLA FB game? Anyway, I set that to record just in case. I like watching the new guys and some of the guys who don't get many minutes, and hopefully it will be that kind of game.

They retain Tommy Reese as OC and hire their VERY good young DC, Marcus Freeman, as HC. I don’t particularly like ND but I enjoy when a program rebounds from a tasteless way a HC leaves and actually promotes QUALITY young talent from within. High Five golden domers!👏

Lincoln Riley to USC is HUGE for the Pac 12 conference. Canzano and some others are underestimating this hire. In a very short time, USC will be competing for National championships. It will only take 2- 3 years. I predict they will have a top 10 recruiting class this season even with only a couple of weeks to go. When SC has a serious coach they are ALWAYs a national power.

None of this means the Ducks are going anywhere. It's great for the Pac 12 if the Ducks and Trojans are competing for the playoffs every year. Both can be consistently Top 10 teams, or better every year. My fear is that Riley will be able to talk some of these So Cal recruits into visiting before they sign next month. MC is a great recruiter but there is no denying that part of the recruiting success is that SC has lost credibility the last few years. That changes with this hire and it changes right now. Every recruit, as of today, looks at USC in a completely different light. SC only has 7 commits so far. Riley will bring some Oklahoma recruits with him, but they have plenty of room to poach

I'll be very pleasantly surprised if we keep all out commits. The worst case scenario is that it snowballs and we lose several. All in all I'm glad they hired him for the Pac 12 profile and the great competition it brings. I just wish they would have waited a few more weeks

Should Mario finish strong by beating Utah, do you think it would improve his chances of getting an interview for the OU job or do you think that he would prefer to get back home to Miami no matter who offers him?

in my opinion, we have only seen glimpses of his offense.

He has been handicapped by the QB position.

Last year, he had a QB who did not get along with him and who did not run Joe's plays correctly.

This year he has a QB who is challenged in the passing game.

I believe that Joe revamped his offense to fit AB...not the other way around.

The fact that AB has the good stats that he has is because Joe coached him up and gave him "safe" passing plays.

Most of the time when AB went deep, he was unsuccessful.

Joe made AB into a Player of the Week.

Now, you take next year when we have QBSs who can throw deep...watch out.

Unfortunately, it sounds like we are never gonna see the "real" Moorhead offense for the Ducks.
