Pritchard Gets in Groove: Near Perfect Game Last Night

The sophomore played what was practically a perfect game: 100 percent from three (four-for-four), 100 percent from the field (five-for-five), no turnovers, and no fouls. He was a whopping plus-31 for the game, trailing only Jayson Tatum (plus-40) in plus/minus.

Video interview: Top-25 DE recruit Matayo Uiagalelei recaps last week's Oregon visit

I went out to St. John Bosco High School yesterday to watch the team work out and speak with Oregon target Matayo Uiagalelei about his visit up to see the Ducks last weekend. He continues to have a solid relationship with the staff, and he said that one of the big reasons for the trip was to see the team in action now that they are starting up with spring practice. He's intrigued to see what things look like defensively under Dan Lanning, Tosh Lupoi and Co., so it was definitely an important trip for him in this process. He's not close to making a decision yet, but Oregon is one of the schools standing out.

“It was pretty cool. I like the coaching staff. I know a lot of players on the team, and it was cool to see a practice. I think that was one of the main reasons I went out there to see them in live action. I thought it was pretty cool.”

MBB Ducks vs ATM on ESPM 9 am...NOW

ATM angry they didn't get to dance, having come in 2d in the SEC tourney and winning 8 of 10 last games. Gonna be a tough one, esp. w/o Will R.

Five-star DL David Hicks Jr. locks in visit to Oregon

What's up, everybody. Nick Harris here, the newest national analyst here at Rivals.

I caught up with Allen (Texas) five-star defensive lineman David Hicks Jr. on Sunday at Under Armour Dallas, and he had some positive remarks regarding Oregon as he's locked in to visit for the Spring Game. Here's the latest.

I Love This Photo… just had to post it

From the World Indoor Championships. Three of the most polite, scholarly, and athletically competitive Ducks ever. Two Aussies and one Yank…. but three Ducks… all were great team oriented athletes. Jessica, and Charlie are Olympians. Sam came close to making the US Olympic team. These three are just first class in every way.

Mizzou Interested in Altman?

Seems like a crazy long shot to me. As well as he's recruiting and coaching, more final fours or even a title seem possible at Oregon. That and he probably doesn't want to coach more than a few more years. Mere click bait?

OT: NFL RANT: 1/4 BILLION DOLLARS

RANT WARNING...YOU"VE BEEN WARNED!! lol

First, can you use two colons in one sentence?

Anyway:

As always, I'm a huge NFL fan.

So..for the first time ever, I'm getting fed up.

The money being thrown at players this year is mind-boggling.

Christian Kirk...journeyman WR gets a $90M contract. What? Really?

$90m for a guy who could not start for several NFL teams. Is he good? He's Ok to Good. He's not great.

I realize that it is not all guaranteed, but, still...

This is going on every day this week.

The topper though is this:

Deshaun Watson just got $230M GUARANTEED to play for the Browns ( see ya, Baker).

$230M guaranteed for a man who just skated on 23ish legal counts of sexual improprieties and is now going to civil court on 23ish counts of sexual improprieties.

Innocent until proven guilty, I agree. But, he still may be found guilty of sexual improprieties, just not criminal ones. Once the criminal charges were gone the NFL didn't care about anything else.

So much for the NFL's big push to be Black and Female and Minority Friendly.

The justice system will take its course and if he's found guilty of these charges, I assume that the NFL will take "action" and that the Browns will have some kind of an "out" to his contract. I would anyway. So, maybe this is the best way to be fair to Watson until he is proven innocent or guilty. Bad optics though.

Now, and more to my point...WTF...$230M for a football player?

I'm a businessman and I get dollars and cents and I get supply and demand....but as a fan I am outraged.

So, strictly on emotion... it's gonna be hard for me to watch a guy that is getting a QUARTER OF A BILLION DOLLARS TO PLAY QB FOR THE BROWNS!!!

Thank you...I feel better now...you may return to your normally scheduled Friday night.

Roderick Robinson update

Three-star running back Roderick Robinson is begging to see his stock rise. He picked up an offer from USC this week and continues to see new schools enter the mix. While he is not yet bringing his recruitment to a close, he does have a path toward his commitment now. He will make his decision in August, but before then he will take more trips to the schools on his list. He visited Arizona last month and is headed back up to Cal in March. USC is also expected to get him on campus in March.

Oregon has been a big part of his recruitment so far and he recently told me that the Ducks remain one of the most active teams in his recruitment. He has been able to get to know the new coaching staff, and having both Jahlil Florence and Jalil Tucker headed to Eugene certainly helps as well.

He announced today that he will take three official visits in June before making his decision with several unofficial visits to take place in March and June as well. Though he didn't specify it to me earlier in the week, my guess is Oregon will end up earning one of those official visits. Cal has made a surge recently, but he has a lot of appreciation for the Ducks having been on campus multiple times before.

“The coaching staff seems very experienced and like a place I would love to be. Top-of-the-line facilities as well, and it’s not a lot of places that do it better than Oregon.”

OT: Anniversary trip

As my wife and I celebrate our 15th this weekend, I will mostly be off the tomorrow and Friday. Will still get a Flock Talk up, but will be at the beach. Wine will be involved.

I made a lengthy post on Facebook, but I want to make sure that everyone here knows how much she really puts up with. Her tolerance for my passions is incredible and I think there is a significant debt of gratitude I owe for her support of this side of my life.

If you want to read the post, feel free (but like most of my personal reflections -- it is LONG)

Here is the link to my FB post: Anniversary Post
