Exclusive interview with Verone McKinley III ahead of Oregon's Pro Day today

I had a Zoom interview with Verone McKinley recently, talking about his NFL Combine experience, the importance of running his 40 today in Eugene, why he feels he's ready to contribute in a big way to an NFL team and also his thoughts on Dan Lanning and the guys who will have to plug the holes in the secondary this fall.

Duck baseball wins again

Ducks have a 2 game set with San Francisco, and they had a 10 run 1st inning in this one! They also extended their school record for hitting at least one HR in a game to 17 straight games. Ducks win 15-5, final game tomorrow before heading to UCLA this weekend.

Ducks Film Room: What to expect from Oregon's 2022 defensive scheme -- base fronts

Our Xs and 0s guru Nathan Papandrea has his second installment of Ducks Film Room, and again, we're talking next-level analysis here as he breaks down what he expects from Dan Lanning/Tosh Lupoi's defensive scheme in terms of base fronts. Nathan will do base coverages in a future breakdown. I, for one, learned a ton from this, as I've just never been an Xs and 0s junkie, but he really broke it down in a way I could understand and appreciate.

2023 OLB Blake Purchase breaks down Oregon offer, talks April visit

Blake Purchase had been focused on his junior basketball season, but now that it is over he is ready to begin focusing more on his recruitment. He's starting to rack up the miles taking some visits, and April is going to be a big month for him. The 6-foot-4 edge rusher recently picked up an offer from Oregon and it's a big one for him. He says the Ducks are going to remain high on his list, and his plan is to make it out on a visit for the spring game on April 23. He wants to move quickly to set up some official visits early in the summer before making a decision in July. He's going to USC this weekend and he'll see Iowa State and Washington next month as well.

“That was a crazy feeling getting that offer from Oregon. They’re really gonna be pretty high on my list just them being Oregon. Coach [Tosh] Lupoi, the defensive coordinator, he’s really showing a lot of love and that he really wants me to be there and become an Oregon Duck.”

He had 83 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and two interceptions as a junior last season at Cherry Creek High School in the Denver area.

4-star 2023 CB Tony Mitchell includes Oregon in Top 5

High four-star cornerback Tony Mitchell has released his top five today, and Oregon is the lone school outside the SEC to make the cut with Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Texas A&M being the other schools included on his list. The Alabama native has been considered an Alabama, but he visited Florida over the weekend before cutting his list down and the Gators have gained momentum coming away from the trip. Getting him on campus will be the next step for the Ducks, and at this point he now has the list of schools that will earn an official visit with only five options remaining.

I watched him a couple weeks ago at a 7v7 tournament and he's definitely the real deal. There's a no-nonsense element of his game that I really appreciate. He has the size and tools to be an elite cornerback at the next level.

He is currently rated as the 30th-best prospect in the 2023 class, the fourth-best cornerback in the class and the send-best recruit in Alabama in the class by Rivals.

Saint Peter(s) Does it Again!!!

Never hurts to have this guy as your mascot.

I'm torn between UNC and UCLA because my love of the P12, lmao (sorry Pete). I bleed Tar Heel blue.
Let em have it Heels. UNC vs UCLA for the Natty with Henry Bibby, from rural NC, helped win 47 straight games for UCLA, including a Natty vs UNC. My younger years.
Go Heels.
