Latest NCAA Track Team Rankings

This is for Indoor Track. It’s early and things will change. The women are surprising people.

As a side note; A friend of mine, who once ran for Oregon, coaches a college track team. He met Coach Schumacher while coaching at the Husky Classic a couple of weeks back. He called me to tell me that Schumacher is an especially nice, polite, and intelligent gentleman. Coach Schumacher told him that his emphasis at Oregon is to be a complete program. This is not the norm at most of our competition. Oregon is committed to being competitive throughout the entire spectrum of the sport….. this is music to my ears!

The complete track team makes spectation so much more fun. It’s like we get a full meet of Oregon thrills. Oregon track is entertaining. They do more than just score tons of points in a few events. They compete in the entire sport of track and field. Win or lose, Oregon is the best program.

Pritchard Didn't Get his Desired Trade

Sounds like it's painful for him to waste his prime years on the bench. they recognize his ability to change high level games so won't trade him. The B. Globe had an article too but I couldn't get past the paywall.

CHARLIE STRONG LEAVES MIAMI (IN CASE YOU CARE)

FROM ESPN:

Veteran coach Charlie Strong, who was Miami's co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach last season, told ESPN on Thursday that he would not return to Miami in 2023 after being passed over for the defensive coordinator job.

"Coach [Mario] Cristobal and the program made a decision to go in a different direction. It's time for me to go in a different direction," Strong said.

It was reported Tuesday that Lance Guidry agreed to a deal to become Miami's defensive coordinator two days after Kevin Steele told Cristobal he was leaving for the same position at Alabama. Guidry had been at Tulane for three weeks before taking the Miami job. He spent last season as Marshall's defensive coordinator, and the Thundering Herd finished in the top five in six different FBS defensive categories.

Strong learned of Guidry's hiring Tuesday and said he was never interviewed for the job. He informed Cristobal the next day that he would not be returning.

WBB….

Gives up 100 points to Utah and loses 100-92. They have lost 5 of 6 and are in 8th place in the PAC-12. Not sure how Graves can be defended any longer. Without Vandersloot and Sabrina quarterbacking his teams he is not “all that”!
Can’t do anything with the #1 rated class in America which have all transferred out minus Paopao by the way….and speaking of Paopao has she ever regressed! Decides to have a small roster this year and has an injury to Prince and another transfer after only a few games. Depth has killed them!
I’ll stop but going to mediocre is ridiculous imo! Rant over!!!!

OL Coach thoughts

Just like with the safety coach, I do not plan on a full hot board. Given not a single person had Chris Hampton in their radar, this one will likely play out similarly

The first name most people will come up with is Matt Mattox who worked with Will Stein at UTSA. The problem is he just moved on the Purdue Boilermakers so I am not sure he will jump that quickly. Will do some digging but my sources may not get me information as quickly as this hire is likely to be made.
