There was a reunion of former Oregon Ducks’ players during the Denver Broncos’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Denver quarterback Bo Nix (2022-23), wide receiver Troy Franklin (2022-23), backup center Alex Forsyth (2017-22) and Tampa Bay running back Bucky Irving (2021-23) were teammates at Oregon were all teammates with the Ducks.

Nix and Irving connected before the game at midfield.

Nix had a spectacular game while posting his first NFL win of his career. Nix, the No. 12 overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft, completed 25-of-36 passes for 216 yards with no sacks and no turnovers in the Broncos’ 26-7 win. Nix also ran nine times for 47 yards and a touchdown.

Franklin caught the first pass of his NFL career, a six-yard reception from Nix in the second quarter. The fourth-round pick (No. 102) of the 2024 NFL draft also caught a five-yard pass during the same drive. He finished with two receptions on five targets for 11 yards.

Irving led the Buccaneers in rushing with nine carries for a career-high 70 yards. Irving, a fourth-round selection (No. 125) in the 2024 NFL draft, also had three receptions for 14 yards. Irving is the Buccaneers’ leading rusher, with 25 carries for 154 yards and he is averaging 6.2 yards a carry.

Tennessee Commit, Bishop Gorman ELITE OL

The staff has made him the top priority - as have some peers - for this class and it looks like the efforts may pay some dividiends as there is some growing thoughts that the Ducks might be able to npull off a MASSIVE flip. This one is still early and not yet ready for an article. But keep this in mind as we think it could be something very real coming here.

B1G undefeated teams .. who's losing?

Can't say the Horse Chestnuts are in much jeopardy and we know the Ducks won't lose.

looking at the remaining teams that might be in the wrong side of the score this week

3-1 Illini visit the 3-0 Huskers and could be a threat. We'll get a better idea how Nebraska is. I think they will win at home

2-0 Condumbs are in the Big House vs Big Blue and I find myself rooting for USC in a rare instance 'cause it will pretty much destroy Michigan's season if they lose. I'm not confident USC can do the deed.

The Spartans are off to Visit Boston college and this is yet another game without a clear favorite. I kind of see the home team winning again.

any thoughts ?

Pressure on the opposing QB?

Can someone remind me when was the last time we had a defense that could consistently put pressure on the opposing QB? Am I wrong if I guess the Mariota teams with Buchner and that defensive line. Without sacks, and or Hurries, the Ducks are going to have to score a bunch of points. So far, the opposing QB's have been playing in pretty clean pockets. After UCLA, the competition level goes up drastically, and we are going to need to figure out how to put pressure on the QBs. Rushing four doesn't seem to be working thus far. Go Ducks

The Oregon high school basketball community lost a legend this week, when Barry Adams died at 88.

Adams’ career of coaching basketball in Oregon spanned almost 40 years, compiling a 653-315 career record and two state championships. He is No. 8 in Oregon’s all-time coaching wins list.

Adams’ first job as an Oregon head basketball coach was in 1960 at Nestucca. He coached the Bobcats until 1967 before moving to Lebanon from 1967-1972.

After that, Adams coached Hillsboro from 1973-1981. He then moved to Glencoe, coaching the Crimson Tide in 1983-1984 and leading the team to the 1983 AAA state championship with a 50-40 win over South Salem.

Coincidentally enough, Adams then moved to South Salem and coached the Saxons from 1985-1999. He led South Salem to the 1996 4A state championship, a 53-39 win over Barlow.

His lengthy tenure as a basketball coach in Oregon also means that he was involved with mentoring many current Oregon coaches.

“Barry was so good to the many coaches he willingly mentored throughout his career and retirement,” wrote former Westview basketball coach, and former Oregon Basketball Coaches Association President Patrick Coons in an email to The Oregonian/OregonLive. “You can attach his name to so many successful HS basketball coaches in the state.”

In 1998, Adams was inducted into the National High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame and he was honored in 1999 as the National High School Athletic Coaches Association National Coach of the Year.

He was voted Oregon’s boys basketball coach of the year four times. He also coached football for 19 years in his career.

Adams was originally from Lake Oswego and went to Western Oregon University, where he played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. He was inducted into the Western Oregon University Hall of Fame in 2004.

More "Buy" Week Musings, Blocking for a Leftie

The slow and somewhat chaotic start w/ the OL might be attributed to several factors including experimenting with a walk on center and the unexpected Bedford injury, but I recall people asking pre-season whether it would require any adjustments in the OL scheme and some "getting used to" blocking for Gabriel, a southpaw. Looking back at the first three games I'm thinking there might be something to it.
I mean watching Cornelius get beat by UI's DE's in the first game and the OL allowing sacks in the first two games was baffling. Cornelius was pre season All Am in some polls and it was pretty shocking to see that.
Also in that ID game when, due to poor OL play, Gabe was forced out of the pocket he did seem to always to roll left. Then starting in the BSU game and really looking much better vs OSU he could stand in the pocket for some time and there were a couple of times in the OSU game where he was actually able to roll right.
They are doing much better as a unit, but if you have never blocked for a left hander maybe that DID have something to do with it, ie, an adjustment period.
I'd be interested to hear from people who actually know more about FB, and I wonder if it makes any sense?
