There is a date and it is coming up in a hurry. Five-star quarterback Dante Moore has set an announcement date of July 8 (Friday) when he will make his commitment public. The announcement will come on live TV at 9 a.m. PT and will be televised by ESPN. Moore has been adamant that he will not cut his list before making his commitment, but Oregon remains heavily in contention with the Detroit-King HS star.

Four-star edge rusher Matayo Uiagalelei took three official visits in June with trips to Oregon, USC and Ohio State. He has yet to schedule any other official visits but he is likely to take one to Alabama during the season. He was on campus for Oregon's big recruiting weekend in June, and that experience was a positive one for the California-based recruit. He really seems to have enjoyed his time on campus since his parents were on the trip with him. He also really valued being able to spend time around the current team quite a bit. He says he likely won't make a decision until later in the process, but Oregon has done a good job of building a strong connection with him through Tosh Lupoi.

“I’ve already been there twice, but being there with my mom and dad that was pretty cool. Then just the time I spent with the players and coaches. It’s not really that flashy, but that was probably the most valuable thing. Spending time with the players and spending time with the coaches and the other recruits.”

OT: PERSONAL: TOM POSEY RIP

Back at the end of January, I posted about two of my dear friends who died in a plane crash at the Salem, OR airport.

They were flying a Beechcraft Bonanza V Tail.

So sad.

Yesterday, I read about a small plane crash with a fatality at the Pearson Airpark in Vancouver, WA.

Turns out it was my good friend Tom Posey.

Tom was flying a F'ing Beechcraft Bonanza V Tail.

Tom was CEO and President of Lamiglas Fishing Rods.

A family man with a wife and kids.

Tom and I met each other at UO a long time ago and bonded. Tom was a rebel, but smart as a whip.

I won't bother you with old college adventures..suffice to say that some parts were worthy of inclusion in a movie.

Tom, moved to Seattle years ago and lived in a neighborhood that was hard-core Husky. And if you knew Tom...he more than held his own at the neighborhood functions.

Always a Duck.

Thanks in advance for condolences, etc. But, mostly, I just wanted to send a little DSA Tribute to a hard-core Duck whom you would have loved.

Thanks,

Corey
