Rival's Bossi Picks the ducks for the Final Four!

I like this guy. Anyone intersted in BB it's worth dropping in on the BB Recruiting site once in awhile.

Out in the West I really like the makeup of No. 1 seed Oregon and its play in the Pac-12 Tournament really caught my eye. Chris Boucher's rim protection allows the guards to take some chances defensively and the Ducks' length and athleticism to go with an experienced leader like Elgin Cook bode well for them. I was really tempted to go with Oklahoma out of this region but a team that is so heavily reliant on outside shooting worries me a little.

Chance to add another CC Ram this fall?

Central Catholic's Ronnie Rust had his baseball scholarship pulled by OSU 10 days before signing day due to an injured shoulder, his second.

Prior to the injury, he was a very highly rated catcher and Oregon has offered him a chance to try both football and baseball.

We have a soft spot for this young man, he's been my kid's biggest 'big brother' of all of those guys from the team the last 4 years....really hoping he finds someplace he can get a chance.

Also supremely disappointed to see OSU turn their backs on a legacy that they offered so early. Ronnie says 'all the OSU stuff came down.'

Oregon vs SEC in Track & Field

If this weekend wasn't busy enough, the Ducks are looking for a couple more NCAA championships in the Indoor Track and Field championships in Birmingham Alabama starting today, Friday, and ending Saturday. Here are a couple of good previews of the meet.

One on the FishDuck site: Ducks Gear up for NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships is highly recommended. It lays out Oregon's chances and how strategies can change as a result of the differences between indoor and outdoor track and is written by a local Tracktown aficionado.

Another has a more national perspective: The Weekend’s Best Matchups: NCAA Championships... And it's best matchup? Oregon vs SEC. As the article points out, if you look at the latest USTFCCCA computer rankings, which estimates scoring potential in the championship meet, it's all SEC except that Oregon is #1 for men and #2 for women! Go Ducks.

As a reminder, my formchart tracker for the meet can be used to keep up with the team scores as the meet progresses. Currently, point projections using seeding positions (based on season best marks) shows the Oregon men at #1 and the Oregon women at #3.

Big week - Lots of offers - Thanks to KOD

He is my eyes and ears this week! We will be doing a week in review, I think I will have it up tomorrow. This is also the week preceding the Rivals Camp: Los Angeles, so we will have plenty of information flowing to you guys next week from the camp. Lots and Lots of Duck targets will be there, so there should be plenty of good information.

I will not personally be there as I fly out to Washington, DC Saturday, but we should have some excellent stuff from the event!

Very good Flock Talk

Scott- very good article today and one that certainly provoked some thought.

I am a bit surprised at Shaw's apparent disdain for something I am sure his team members actively participated in and benefited from prior to arriving at Stanford. I have to say his response is coming off not only arrogant but pompous. I like him and think he is a good coach, but I have heard some Stanford "old guard" alums say he can rub people the wrong way sometimes with his demeanor. Who knows.

Also liked the analysis of why the offers have been flying at a much more rapid pace and also that there have been more. I am glad MH (or whoever) realized slow playing some MAY have cost UO some prized recruits. We may never really know but interesting to think about.

I like that there are some changes happening.
