My Hero Died Today, in my Arms

We have an adult foster home in West Linn. A month ago, following the wind storm, the COWL arborist said they would cut the tree, on city property, "in 2-3 days. 4-5 calls later, NA.

Today,Nothing. I called COWL the arborist and said I was worried about light wind. Sitting on my back porch, I heard the tree snap, and it killed my beloved Bob, a WWII vet.

IF you live in WL, demand a full inquiry. Bob died in my arms. I feel so bad, I would have cut the tree myself, but the COWL dragged it out. Please call the City and tell them to say "yes or know."

Bob had the garbage service in WL and LOS after wWII. God, please for give me. Not a better man has lived. He died in my arms today. Had I only been in his stead.

2017 five-star hoops target Brian Bowen

Look for a decision to be coming soon from five-star basketball target Brian Bowen. This is a kid that the Ducks got in on pretty late -- Arizona, Creighton and Michigan State had been the main comp -- but they got him on campus a week or so ago and there is now a legitimate chance that Oregon comes in late and snags him. Would be a huge addition. Big wing, can play the three or the four, nice inside/out game.

Oregon Discus Commit Exploding

6'8" Austin Glynn from Wisconsin signed an NLI during the early signing period without much mention or notice. I rated him three stars. It is time to add a star, because on May 13 he threw the discus 209-9. He is now the 6th ranked high school discus thrower in the country. Austin has been improving rapidly and constantly. I'm beginning to think that Austin might end up being one of Oregon's top commits. He is growing into his enormous frame.

You don't suppose that the Oregon coaches are good at spotting talent, do you? He was lightly recruited and now he is the 6th ranked discus thrower in the nation.

Pac12 Track Championships

It was a soggy first day. I never get too focused on form charts when I'm at a meet. They always seem easier to follow when I'm watching the meet on an electronic device. Form charts are mainly just a measuring device. It kind of sets a scoring base line from which to add and subtract. Meets don't usually follow form charts, so they are not a great predictor.

Let's all hope for better meet conditions today. I think that the men's 400 showdown between OREGON's Marcus Chambers and USC's Ricky Morgan will be a meet highlight.

The women's 200m has 5 Ducks and 3 Trojans. I think that how that event goes will pretty much define the team scores. I expect a big day for the UO women!

The battle between USC and UO's men should be exciting. Right now I'd put my money on the UO winning their 11th straight men's conference team championship.

Hopefully there will be a good crowd.

Go Ducks!

Ducks look to land Texas Tech wide receiver transfer Jonathan Giles (Edit: to LSU)

My story today, the background on Red Raider Biletnikof Semi-Finalist Giles, who has exceptional talent but wound up in Kliff Kingsbury's doghouse.

He's Tweeted a final three of Oregon, LSU and Florida State, visiting Baton Rouge June 1 and Eugene June 11th, with a decision planned for late June.

So much of the time transfer decisions are a he said/he said story, with the defining issue being about playing time.

Giles had 69 catches last year for 1158 yards and 13 touchdowns, 2nd team All-Big 12. But the news out of Lubbock suggests there are some lingering questions about his work ethic and attitude. Demoted to the 2nd team coming out of spring practice.

Dominick Wood-Anderson

What's really going on with this dude? Can he not qualify? Is that the reason he hasn't publically committed to Oregon?

Starting to doubt this one happens.

Changed his profile pic to the Oregon "O".. hours later he changed it back to himself.

Changed his banner pic to him as an Oregon player.. hours later changed it back to Tennessee NFL draft pic.

Whats really going on?
