Two Ducks Advance in Women's 400 Meters

The Ducks came up big this evening, with both Makenzie Dunmore and Elexis Guster advancing to the Semi-Final round of the 400 meters at the USATF Championships. Makenzie just continues to get faster as the season progresses. She came to Oregon all the way from Georgia, where her best high school time was an eye-popping 52.52 seconds. In a season of new Personal Bests, she got another today with an impressive 51.42. Her teammate, Guster, was just slightly off that mark, with her own 51.56. Interestingly, Dunmore was not a member of the Women's 4 X 400 team that broke the all time Collegiate Record at the NCAA championships. I think it is safe to say that, with Guster graduating, Dunmore is going to fill those shoes nicely next season.

What a showing by the Ducks just getting to the starting line.

I put David Ribich on the list because he is from Western Oregon...what a stud.

I like that some of the kids were not necessarily big stars at UO but they kept at it and are maturing into great athletes.

Another 4-star CB at the airport, heading to Oregon...

I just spoke with Kalon Gervin from Cass Tech in Detroit. He is at the airport in Detroit with his mom and brother on their way to Portland. He will be in Eugene this weekend, then will be flying to Portland again next weekend for the Opening.

Just outside the Rivals100 right now.

Big visitor today 4-star CB...

The hits are going to keep coming all week. Later today it will be Carrollton (Tex.) Hebron 4-star CB Verone McKinley III in town.

Would be a huge pickup for the Ducks obviously. Is on a five-day West Coast swing. He visited Washington yesterday and will be in Eugene from this evening until Saturday. He might be heading down to LA after this.

USA Championships Thread

I thought that it might sense to have one running thread for the US Championships ....there are tons of college and pro Ducks in this meet. Please help out by posting results when you get them. The first condensed telecast will be Friday night between 7:30 and 9:00 PM.

If you don't want to know the results before the condensed telecasts do not read this thread.

Here is my first post in this thread:
