Leavitt Again

Clip from ESPN article about assistant coaches nationwide.

Coaching staff nuggets

• Other than Alabama's, there aren't many notable defensive coordinator vacancies. But keep an eye on Oregon. Since the American Football Coaches Association convention in San Antonio, I've heard from multiple industry sources that Ducks defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt could be on the move, likely back to the NFL, where he worked from 2011 to 2014 under Jim Harbaugh with the San Francisco 49ers. Although Leavitt has significantly upgraded Oregon's defense during his two years on staff, Ducks coach Mario Cristobal didn't hire him and might want different leadership on defense going forward. Leavitt is out recruiting for the Ducks with no shortage of pep and Pepsi, but keep an eye on this situation. Leavitt also interviewed for head-coaching jobs at Texas Tech and Kansas State.

Congrats Chris Boucher!

The former Duck hoopster got his contract with the Toronto Raptors guaranteed through the end of this season, and partially guaranteed for the 2019-2020 season.

Chris has had to overcome a lot to make it to the league, and his hard work is starting to pay off. Pretty cool that Toronto is the organization giving him his first real shot, and that he’s able to play closer to his Canadian family & fans. I hope he continues to unlock his potential and carves out a long, successful NBA career.

Always great to see one of our own achieving their goals & finding success. Once a Duck, always a Duck!
