Montana coach after the game

“Disappointed we didn’t come in here and get the win,” Hauck said afterward outside the stadium. “They have a really good football team. They were better on defense than I thought they were going to be. They have a really nice team, and the quarterback’s just terrific. We just didn’t have enough for them tonight.”

A big contrast to how Willie Taggart or Nevada coach Jay Norvell handled a similar situation.

Dings and nicks: do we have a reliable status report?

CMC has been a bit cagey about the injury report thus far, not wanting to give up potential info to the opponents.

His caution is understandable, but it's gotten difficult to sort out useful knowledge from the coachspeak.

Yesterday starters Bryson Young and Austin Faoliu sat out, in addition to the squadron of wide receivers that have been in the MASH unit since training camp.

These are counting games now. It'd be nice to get a few of these guys back. Last night Thomas Graham and center Jake Hanson left the game with injuries.

The Ducks are a 10-point favorite on the road in the early betting line, but injuries like these can be terrible equalizers. Anybody have some good reliable news on this subject?

And Duck Fans Complain about Game Management, lol

From Yahoo "10 Takeaways"

"The single most baffling, inexplicable and ludicrous moment of Saturday came courtesy Pittsburgh coach Pat Narduzzi. Trailing Penn State 17-10 with less than five minutes remaining, Pitt faced a fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line.

Defying modern analytics, basic mathematics and common sense, Narduzzi declined to line up to attempt the tying touchdown and instead opted for the field goal. The attempt by Alex Kessman doinked off the upright, likely directed there by karma.

Even more baffling than Narduzzi’s felonious game management was his reasoning for it. Instead of admitting his mistake or even acknowledging one was possible, Narduzzi said, “you need two scores to win,” according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette."

OT: Finally got new internet and it is good...

For those of you who know me "off the field" know I have had extreme frustrations with internet speeds ever since we moved outside town 17 years ago. Very frustrating. In order to upload or download video I would have to drive into town.

Yesterday I got a direct WIFI link installed here at HQ (they mounted it up on one of my trees lol) pointed at my own relay down on the valley floor. My internet speeds just went from basically unacceptable to 80 times faster up and down.

It makes me so very, very happy. Have a great day. :)

Oregon vs. Montana: 1st Half official thread

OK wanted to get this up now so the guys at the game can post to it. An hour and a half until KO, very late, very mean to fans. East coast Ducks have it just as bad as attendees.

Anyway, Scott, Brandon and Tom are on site to bring you first hand observations, photos and such from the game. It will be a big blowout but the individual performances will be interesting.

Do I understand the implications of this new California law?

I have not heard anyone discuss this, but if I understand it correctly, this would be a huge disadvantage to Pac 12 schools not in California. Most 4 and 5 star kids believe they are going to be superstars in college. Why would they choose an Oregon over a school in California when it could cost them thousands of dollars?

I understand the NCAA threats to not allow it, but I doubt they could, or would, follow through. I have no problem with players making money off their own image as long as its across the board

Around the PAC-12, early games
