I read on another site he wants to visit, which seems strange given how many OL's UO has and that the class is getting full. Maybe they see him as a possible DT? He's got the size and nasty streak.

As usual, there's a Rivals article already saying he plans to visit. USC and UO as well as some others previously scheduled. HE seems to like playing D in HS. Maybe he's a potential DT/NG? It's funny how bigguns never get listed as "athletes."

Who would you choose to be your DC?

I'm going with Avalos (even though he has only coached four games for us.)

What is the story? He was on the verge of playing game 1... then he was expected last week at furd... now he isn’t even gettin mentioned as possible for this week while everyone else is coming back

My wife and I traveled to South Carolina for the week 1 opener between Clemson and Texas A&M. Death Valley was an amazing place to see a game. 81,500 fans. Hot as hell! We sat near the Clemson sideline and in the midst of pure Clemson fans.

I can honestly report that we should be proud of Autzen Stadium. Death Valley certainly was loud but Autzen is as loud or louder!

I did like some of their in game activities. They have sections spell out Clemson going around the stadium as a cheer. We could do the same to go along with our Go Ducks cheer. They also have the BCS championship logo for each year they have been to the playoffs. I would like to see the same hanging from the south side of the stadium or near the roof of the north side.

We also toured Georgia and Tennessee’s stadiums. Athens was a great community, very welcoming and great food.

Ducks are going to enter the game as 2 1/2 TD faves over the visitors. Here is how the line has moved in the last couple days (barely has) and then the over/under.

FIRST we both need to win our next 2 games. Pooches have Stanford & AZ on the road.

Week 6:
Aub will beat Florida
Mich will beat Iowa

Week 7:

Iowa will beat Penn St
LSU will hand Florida its second straight loss...GOODBYE gators
OK will beat Texas

That removes #10, 11, and 12
Florida, Texas, and Penn State
And #14 Iowa

Oregon is now #10 and Washington #12

***With Penn State now not top 15...the only other game in the running for Game Day...

Just as the talks of benching him pick up, he gets it going. Anyone know if Taylor Lewan is playing in this game? His suspension should be just about up. At the half:

The most important news from MC's presser today was that Mycah Pittman and Brenden Schooler should be good to go for Cal. Coach also said they are being cautious with Juwan Johnson.

I put together a piece on the top performers on offense through the first four games.

Top grades offense: First four

Since we don't have a game today - and we added two more really good players for the future - I thought I'd check out my crystal ball (which is really an old, scraped up glassy - remember those? - that I found on the street) and see what's coming next year.

Here ya go (and if someone doesn't shoot this down completely, I'm going to be very disappointed):

QB: Shough, Millen, Butterfield
One of the best trios of QBs in Oregon history. Seriously..each may not be an all-timer, but the group as a whole sets us up for years to come.

RB: CJ Verdell, Trey Benson, Sean Dollars
A trio of RBs that will get the job done individually and as a group. Three definite P5 level talents that will take advantage of the OL in front of them.

OL: Penei Sewell, Chris Randazzo, TJ Bass, Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu, Steven Jones
What we lose in experience, we make up for in talent. This is Coach Cristobal's first unit full of his OL and I think we'll see them perform more consistently than the group now in place. As long as Sewell is at LT, that side will be strong. With Jones and Sala on the right, though, suddenly we'll have a line capable of big things going either direction. This will be the foundation upon which our future O (and OL) will be built.

TE: Spencer Webb, Jonah Tuanu'u, Patrick Herbert.
Jonah is a tremendous talent as an OL and he gives us the blocking at TE that the others simply don't. And he can catch the ball a bit, too. He's there because we need blocking...otherwise he wouldn't be. Webb and Herbert will be the base for our TEs coming up. We need Aiello at TE this year, I am afraid we'll need Jonah there next year. Not ideal, but it is what it is.

WR: 1) Addison, Pittman, Williams 2) JJ3, Delgado, Waters
Length, speed, catch radius, YAC...all six of those receivers give us that, plus they all run their routes effectively. Whoever is at QB will not have to worry about the talent they're throwing to...it's there and in abundance.

Ok...this isn't a Chip Kelly-esque offense. Look at the better offenses under Bellotti and you'll see more of what I envision this being. We'll score a bunch of points, we'll dominate the line AND be explosive. As Coach Cristobal said in his intro to the team: "we're going to be the team that nobody wants a piece of".

Eating crow is a colloquial idiom, used in some English-speaking countries, that means humiliation by admitting having been proven wrong after taking a strong position. The crow is a carrion-eater that is presumably repulsive to eat in the same way that being proven wrong might be emotionally hard to swallow.
