Women’s 4x100 Team

They executed the race as well as you could ask for. . They finished 3rd, but it was very close between 2nd and 3rd. Jasmin Reed ran a fabulous third leg. The race was thrilling.

Jasmin Reed just ran her last race. She will graduate, and I don’t expect professional opportunities. What a race to go out on! I’m going to miss Jasmin. She always represented our university with dignity. Congratulation to our All American relay team!

UPDATE: Dillingham key in Oregon's pursuit of 5-star QB Dante Moore

Five-star quarterback Dante Moore has been very good this week at the OT7 passing tournament in Las Vegas playing for Cam Newton's C1N team. Moore is still sorting through his options and has an unofficial visit coming up to Texas A&M next weekend. For now he continues to focus on a group of schools that includes Oregon. There has been some differing opinions on where exactly Oregon stands, but after speaking with him it is clear the Ducks are right in the thick of this one. He speaks glowingly of his relationship with Kenny Dillingham, and that has been a big deal in his evaluation of the program. He admitted that travel got to him a little bit on his first trip out to Eugene, but after speaking with Dont'e Thornton and Seven McGee his concerns about the distance were eased.

He added that knowing NIL will be part of the process it would allow him to feel more comfortable to be far away from home seeing as he could get his family out to games. He was definitely thorough in our conversation and discussed all the reasons Oregon remains a big part of the process. Notre Dame recently added a commitment from a 2024 quarterback who could reclassify, and Moore said he was surprised by that. He is evaluating that option, and if he decides that Notre Dame is no longer the right spot it could open up the process quite a bit for the other schools in pursuit.

“With Dillingham, he’s a genius, right? When he was at Memphis, when he was at Auburn, when he was at Florida State, going to Oregon, I respect his coaching and what he did with Jordan Travis and everybody. And, what he has done to improve them as great quarterbacks. I really respect him a lot. He’s a guy that flies to Detroit to comes and see me. We’ve been going through this for two, three years now, and I appreciate him a lot for what he’s done and it’s for sure standing out for me.”

The latest on Ducks QB target Dante Moore ...

This is from Adam Gorney and is a broader look at where Moore's recruitment stands:

Matt Moreno will have a more in-depth interview from a Ducks perspective coming up later as he also talked to him yesterday at the OT7 tournament in Las Vegas.

Men’s Finals Tonight on ESPN2 from 6 to 8:30

Although the Oregon track team is competing beneath expectations, two of the greatest track and field athletes in school history will be competing for an NCAA event championship today. Both of these athletes are Olympians, and both are contending for the Bowerman Trophy ( track’s equivalent of the Heisman) These athletes are Micah Williams in the 100m and Emanuel Ihemeje in the triple jump. The triple jump starts at 6:20 PM. The 100 will be run at 6:52 PM. The hopes and pride of Oregon track fans ride on these two athletes. May the “Hayward Magic” be with them. Go Ducks!

DE Kelze Howard replaces planned Oregon OV with Oregon State this weekend

I interviewed three-star DE Kelze Howard earlier this week and as of that point he was still hoping to take an official visit to Oregon this weekend, as planned, but he said he hadn't been getting a response from the coaching staff. Now he's going to Oregon State instead. Sounds like the Ducks chose to move on from him.

Ducks women's softball could've been

I live in Honolulu and I was listening to local radio and this guy who covered Oahu high school sports was talking about Oklahoma vs Texas. He mentioned that Mike White was formerly at Oregon and was one of the first coaches/schools to recruit Jocelyn Alo. Then he says she went to commit to him and the Ducks, and he said sorry but we've gone in a different direction. She could've been a Duck. Who knows what could've happened 🤷‍♂️
