Oregon Media Day today

The Ducks have their own media day event today over at Autzen. As Jacob and Gabriel are not back in Eugene yet, I'm excited to introduce a new contributor who will pitch in here and there. Mitchell Forde, who is an experienced reporter who was previously featured on Rivals' Missouri site, is now based in Portland, doing transfer portal coverage for Rivals and helping us out. He's in Eugene today for media day. Dan Lanning speaks at 9:30 and Mitchell will relay any notable news in here. Then there are a couple hours of player interviews to follow. Look for a couple stories by the end of the day and something fun we're working on for the weekend.

Teams coming after five-star 2023 Ohio State WR commit Carnell Tate

Tate gives a recruiting update sharing which programs are still actively recruiting him on Rivals:

USC: THANKS A LOT

How can you e the President of a University and be such a backstabbing liar?

From CBS Sports:

USC president sabotaged Pac-12 expansion prior to Trojans' Big Ten jump, per report

USC president Carol Folt reportedly sabotaged Pac-12 expansion 10 months prior to the Trojans' announcement they were leaving the conference for the Big Ten alongside UCLA, The Los Angeles Times reports. There were discussions of the Pac-12 adding teams last summer, but Folt "cooled the whole process" and did not recommend a move, The Times is reporting through multiple sources who were familiar with a Pac-12 conference call in 2021, but are not authorized to speak publicly on the subject.

USC blindsiding the Pac-12 leaves the league in relative peril considering reports of the Big 12 looking to expand with several Pac-12 programs — including Washington and Oregon — in the crosshairs.

Visit recap: Oregon hits a home run on Terrance Green's OV

Scott mentioned this in his article earlier today, but Oregon has certainly made a strong move with Cypress (Texas) Cy Woods defensive lineman Terrance Green after his official visit with the Ducks over the weekend. Green was really impressed by everything he saw and experienced while in Eugene. Teams always battle it out to be the last official visit of the summer, and Oregon certainly put itself in strong position over the last few days. Green recently announced a top five of Oregon, Texas, Florida, Michigan State and Miami. He took an official visit to Michigan State earlier in the month and recently took an unofficial visit to Texas.

However, Oregon really left its mark with him this weekend and he is getting closer toward making a decision. He wouldn't give me an exact timeline on when he will make his choice, but he did say the process will be ending "soon" as he talks things over with his family now that all his June visits are complete. I had a really great conversation with him about the visit, and you can read his recap at the link up top. He actually talked about so much that I had to cut a few things just so you guys wouldn't have too much to read.

It's clear he has built a really strong connection to the program and Oregon is in a great spot as it stands right now after his latest visit with the Ducks.

“It was just a great time, the coaching staff and the people there are just amazing. People try to talk about the jerseys, but it’s the people there for me. The coaches, the way they’ll be able to develop and do all the things like that. The town is good. It’s really no distractions out there. It’s just fun at Oregon.”

High three-star receiver Ja'Kobi Lane has been offered by Oregon tonight, and there's a very good chance he ends up committed to the Ducks very soon. Kansas State has been the heavy favorite to land the 6-foot-5 recruit from Arizona, but this offer from Oregon (which was expected to come so long as he made the trip) is going to change things in his recruitment. Had a chance to watch him at multiple events this offseason and he has been outstanding at every one of them. He was the best receiver at the Elite 11 over the course of the event's three days and ended up earning the camp MVP award at his position. It took him a while to truly pop as a recruit, but he has continued to see his stock rise now that he's had some more exposure. Texas A&M offered him earlier today. Auburn, Iowa State, Arizona State, Colorado and Arizona are some of his other offers.

Flowe, Dollars et al Health Questions

Anyone know if Flowe and Dollars are at full strength for Fall Camp? I don't recall if they played in the Spring game. Both could be big contributors, obviously, if 100%. Any other injuries looking out there?
I also wonder bout Herbert, who seems to have had the injury bug since arriving. He's another who could play a role, especially in terms of depth.
I know this is some of the hardest information to come by, so just wondering....
