USC: THANKS A LOT

How can you e the President of a University and be such a backstabbing liar?

From CBS Sports:

USC president sabotaged Pac-12 expansion prior to Trojans' Big Ten jump, per report

USC president Carol Folt reportedly sabotaged Pac-12 expansion 10 months prior to the Trojans' announcement they were leaving the conference for the Big Ten alongside UCLA, The Los Angeles Times reports. There were discussions of the Pac-12 adding teams last summer, but Folt "cooled the whole process" and did not recommend a move, The Times is reporting through multiple sources who were familiar with a Pac-12 conference call in 2021, but are not authorized to speak publicly on the subject.

USC blindsiding the Pac-12 leaves the league in relative peril considering reports of the Big 12 looking to expand with several Pac-12 programs — including Washington and Oregon — in the crosshairs.

Visit recap: Oregon hits a home run on Terrance Green's OV

Scott mentioned this in his article earlier today, but Oregon has certainly made a strong move with Cypress (Texas) Cy Woods defensive lineman Terrance Green after his official visit with the Ducks over the weekend. Green was really impressed by everything he saw and experienced while in Eugene. Teams always battle it out to be the last official visit of the summer, and Oregon certainly put itself in strong position over the last few days. Green recently announced a top five of Oregon, Texas, Florida, Michigan State and Miami. He took an official visit to Michigan State earlier in the month and recently took an unofficial visit to Texas.

However, Oregon really left its mark with him this weekend and he is getting closer toward making a decision. He wouldn't give me an exact timeline on when he will make his choice, but he did say the process will be ending "soon" as he talks things over with his family now that all his June visits are complete. I had a really great conversation with him about the visit, and you can read his recap at the link up top. He actually talked about so much that I had to cut a few things just so you guys wouldn't have too much to read.

It's clear he has built a really strong connection to the program and Oregon is in a great spot as it stands right now after his latest visit with the Ducks.

“It was just a great time, the coaching staff and the people there are just amazing. People try to talk about the jerseys, but it’s the people there for me. The coaches, the way they’ll be able to develop and do all the things like that. The town is good. It’s really no distractions out there. It’s just fun at Oregon.”

High three-star receiver Ja'Kobi Lane has been offered by Oregon tonight, and there's a very good chance he ends up committed to the Ducks very soon. Kansas State has been the heavy favorite to land the 6-foot-5 recruit from Arizona, but this offer from Oregon (which was expected to come so long as he made the trip) is going to change things in his recruitment. Had a chance to watch him at multiple events this offseason and he has been outstanding at every one of them. He was the best receiver at the Elite 11 over the course of the event's three days and ended up earning the camp MVP award at his position. It took him a while to truly pop as a recruit, but he has continued to see his stock rise now that he's had some more exposure. Texas A&M offered him earlier today. Auburn, Iowa State, Arizona State, Colorado and Arizona are some of his other offers.

Flowe, Dollars et al Health Questions

Anyone know if Flowe and Dollars are at full strength for Fall Camp? I don't recall if they played in the Spring game. Both could be big contributors, obviously, if 100%. Any other injuries looking out there?
I also wonder bout Herbert, who seems to have had the injury bug since arriving. He's another who could play a role, especially in terms of depth.
I know this is some of the hardest information to come by, so just wondering....

Big Ten Media Days 2022: Commissioner Kevin Warren leaves door open for more expansion after adding USC, UCLA

Watch Now:Reaction From Big Ten Media Day(195)
On the heels of its landscape-altering addition of UCLA and USC, the Big Ten's leadership is not closing the door on the possibility of additional expansion. Commissioner Kevin Warren said Tuesday at Big Ten Media Days that he gets asked "every single day" what's next in regards to conference realignment, and he said it "may" include future expansion.
"But it will be done for the right reasons at the right time with our student-athletes, academic and athletic empowerment at the center of any and all decisions that we will make regarding any further expansions," Warren said. "We will not expand just to expand. It will be strategic, it will add additional value to our conference, and it will provide a platform to even have our student-athletes be put on a larger platform so they can build their careers but also that they have an opportunity to grow and learn from an education and from an athletic standpoint."
The additions of UCLA and USC, effective for the 2024 football season, will bring the Big Ten to 16 teams, which will be on par with the size of the SEC following its addition of Oklahoma and Texas. The move makes the Big Ten the first major conference in college sports to have schools in both the Pacific and Eastern time zones. While the league's sprawling geography will present logistical challenges with scheduling, Warren made it clear he sees a coast-to-coast footprint as an advantage, especially in terms of content distribution.
"I think the value of being across four time zones for multiple reasons is really important," Warren said. "We haven't finalized the financial impact, and ironically this probably will shock you: the numbers and finances associated with it are typically the last thing that I kind of consider and analyze. It's important for me from a business standpoint, but from a decision-making process standpoint, always look at all the other reasons why, because if all the other reasons make sense, the finances will take care of themselves."

Securing two of the West Coast's top collegiate brands in advance of the Big Ten's new media rights deal potentially opens the league up to capitalize on the late-night TV window, giving the league four TV slots each Saturday instead of the traditional three. Warren said the league is "finalizing our deals" and added that he expects an announcement "sooner than later" on a new media rights deal that is expected to be in the neighborhood of $1 billion annually.
As for the cut that its new schools will receive, Warren said UCLA and USC will enter the league as full members.

"We think that's important for various reasons," Warren said. "They bring a lot of value to our relationship. They bring a lot...to our relationship, and we look forward to welcoming them into the Big Ten family here in 2024. There's a lot of work to be done between now and then."

Five thoughts on Oregon's offensive line ahead of fall camp

Jacob does a great job breaking down the offensive line picture as it relates to both the present and future:

TE Duce Robinson

This was supposed to be one of those quiet visits (ala Conerly and Dante Moore), but it got leaked so will say that he is on his way to Eugene (may have landed by now) for a visit.

He was mentioned as potentially visiting this summer, but actually getting him on campus is a big deal. Some peer recruiting, though, helped to make the visit happen. Robinson is still a very, very, very long shot for Oregon, but this is going to be a big deal. He will be going to Texas after this for a visit before returning to Arizona. He has a strong relationship with Malachi Nelson and the Trojans are thought to be the heavy favorites right now, but this visit could really help.
