Pac-12 MBB Tournament Semifinals Oregon vs UCLA Thread

The No. 5 seed Oregon Ducks will take on the No. 1 seed UCLA Bruins in the first game of the Pac-12 Semifinals. UCLA is the No. 2 ranked team in the country and hasn't lost in over a month. The Bruins will be without defensive star Jaylen Clark, but possess one of the most dangerous rosters in all of college basketball. A win today secures a spot in the Pac-12 Championship game Saturday night. Tip-off is in 20 minutes.

NCAA Indoor T&F Results Disappointing

The men only had on entry, Elliot Cook. The good news is that he managed to make it to the finals and finished 7th. Those two points are Oregon’s grand total
team score.

The women under performed expectations, finishing 11th in the NCAA final standings.

The women are talented. It just wasn’t their meet. Now we turn our hopes towards the outdoor season.

There is an unconfirmed rumor that Jaydyn Mays , and Elliot Cook sre transferring to Notre Dame. I dearly hope that is not the case. Cook was the lone scorer for the men, and Mays was the top point scorer for the women.

Here are the highlights from the meet:

Discussion Point: Ruiz to sue NCAA?

The Miami booster is claiming he is not a booster. Not sure his exact argument because by all definitions he is a representative of athletic interests.

The problem of him ACTUALLY suing the NCAA is that his email will then be discoverable - and that could open him up to significantly steeper penalties.

I would imagine he is going to shout a lot on Twitter about the 'injustice' and never actually sue.

Either way, this could be the test of the new system we need to get it better structured.

NCAA Indoor T&F Championships

Day one is over. There was a major disappointment on the women’s DMR team.

The men are without Micah Williams and the women are without there, star Shana Grebo. So we are all a bit down.

HOWEVER, the day was not without its highlights and tomorrow still promise for more excitement.

Oregon Lands Jamaican Sprint Star

According to a reliable poster on Trackducks, Jamaican 100m Junior Champion and talented 200m runner, Alana Reid, has committed to Oregon.
I haven’t been able to verify this but if true it is a big recruit! She ran an 11.22 outdoor last spring.

Greg Oden's Long Walk Home

Not really Duck related, but I know that there are a lot of Blazer fans around these parts, so thought this was an interesting read.

Men's basketball take good vibes to Las Vegas

Oregon split the season series with WSU winning 74-60 at home and losing 68-65 on the road.

Dana Altman quote from the article:

"There is no Friday if you don't play well Thursday," he said. "So you lay it all out there. … You expend whatever you've got to expend, try to win the game the best you can on Thursday, and you'll find enough energy to play Friday. And if you're fortunate enough to play Saturday, you'll find enough energy to play there."

MBB PAC-12 Tourney

Since the DSA Mgmt. is on sabbatical…thought I could step up in their absence.

We play WAZZU tomorrow @ 2:30 🕺🏼
