MARIO'S GUYS

It's been said on TV many times that when Mario left (has it really only been a year?), he left the cupboard full for the next coach.

The implication is that Mario recruited very well and the new coach would have great players to work with.

Mario was going to bring an SEC-type player to the Ducks: big, strong, hard-assed.

Now that our SEC-trained new coach, Dan Lanning, is in charge, he seems to be systematically getting rid of lots of Mario's players.

So, were Mario's guys just not as good as we thought?

Do they just not fit DL's scheme very well?

Or are they just not hard-assed enough for DL...is he gonna out-SEC Mario?

Oregon's plan at QB already in action

What's up, everybody!

Oregon was in-home with Dripping Springs (Texas) four-star quarterback Austin Novosad last week with offensive coordinator Will Stein and the Ducks are pushing hard down the stretch for the Baylor commit with 48 hours to go until Signing Day. As for the chances here, I think Oregon is definitely in it, but it's gonna be a hard-fought battle. For some context, Novosad stuck with his Baylor pledge over the summer after taking visits to Notre Dame, Ohio State and Texas A&M. I see this opportunity being a little different for Novosad though considering his long-standing relationship with Stein.

We'll have more as we get it confirmed.

Rumor Confirmed?

It looks like PK isn't going to throw tens of millions at HS players. I don't blame him if it's so. He is doing plenty for UO, especially in sports, and we cannot expect him to be our salvation for every 5 star hold out just before signing day. Much better ways to "donate" his money. Time to coach em up. Lanning came in as a last minute hire, put together a great staff. Then his OC bails. It is what it is. Deal with it. We have a great core team and if the class minus it's two highest ranked recruit dont stick, I'll remain optimistic.
