For the occasion I have developed a brand new super secret method of picking my score. the system ... can't go to Vegas without a system ...tells me Ducks win 35-28 but understanding how well I do in devising systems I'm going with 38-24, still the Ducks. so I'll check to see where the system falls in with the results next week. REMEMBER it is another Friday game .. 5:00 Eugene time so I'll probably be awake for most of the action :)

Fifth Quarter Analysis: Oregon State

Damien Martinez – who came into the game averaging 104.3 yards per game and 6.1 yards per carry – was held to just 38 yards on 13 carries (2.9 yards per carry) and the Beavers had ZERO rushing plays longer than 10yards.⬇️

Process for appeal of official's call in a Pac-12 game

We have heard that coach Lanning has submitted several appeals to the Pac-12 officials concerning questionable calls made against
the Ducks players. Some were clearly blown calls based on several opinions expressed to this site. All had merit in my view based on
several reviews of video replay. What ever happens to the appeals? Do they say tough luck, or sorry we will try to do better? Go Ducks, PMM

🏈NCAA football transfer window 2023: Latest news, updates, takeaways

College football's transfer portal opens Monday and will be open for the next 30 days. More than 2,100 NCAA football players entered the portal in last December's transfer window -- the most of any month since the transfer portal was created in fall 2018.

  • If a coach is fired or leaves the program, that school's players can enter the portal immediately.
After an up-and-down career with the Hurricanes, Van Dyke entered the transfer portal, saying, "I am looking forward to the next chapter and what my future holds." A fourth-year junior, had been the starter since the 2021 season. He threw for 2,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions in 10 games in 2021. His performance that season earned him ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. Injuries and inconsistency hampered his next two seasons as Van Dyke threw 17 interceptions over the last two seasons and has played for three different offensive coordinators.

Howard, who led Kansas State to a Big 12 title in 2022, has decided to move on as a graduate transfer. Howard led Kansas State with 2,643 passing yards and 24 touchdowns with eight interceptions, completing 61.3% of his passes. After sharing time with Adrian Martinez to begin the 2022 season, he emerged as the Wildcats' top quarterback for their run to a conference title. Howard, who will have one year of eligibility left, has 5,786 career passing yards with 48 touchdowns -- a team record -- and 25 interceptions, as well as 934 career rushing yards and 19 touchdowns.

A sophomore receiver, McAlister had a big season for the Broncos in 2023. He had 47 catches for 873 yards and five scores. He averaged 18.6 yards-per-catch in 2023.

Part of an exodus of Hoosiers players after the firing of coach Tom Allen, Indiana has four of five starting offensive linemen entering the portal. Benson and Carpenter will be graduate transfers, while Smith and Bedford have multiple years of eligibility left.

Jonathan Smith noise heading into the game

Clearly we have all heard rumors, but when asked about it, Smith pretty much gives a clue as to what he is thinking. When asked about whether OSU fans should be nervous about SMith bolting after this season he had this response:

"They can be confident I'm completely focused on the task at hand. (They can be) confident that we're battling, week in and week out and that has not changed. There has not been some distraction on that. I think it's known what this place means and what I've done and been around here and I think that speaks for itself."

Does that mean that you have not had contact with other schools? "I'm not trying to be sarcastic here. I've got an agent that's got a job. He best be finding out what is out there and people calling. That's how that works. I can tell you from his side he best be working just because I'm paying him so much. They get a percentage and I'm making him a couple million bucks. I'm not trying to be sarcastic. Any coach, they're aware of what's potentially out there if their agent is doing their job. I'm not trying to dodge the question. I'm trying to be truthful."
