Chance Allen heading to San Antonio...

I spoke with Bralon Addison who told me Chance is heading to SA right now to hang out with the team and watch the Alamo Bowl. He said he got Chance a ticket so he will be sitting with players parents and family.

Pretty great for everybody. Chance Allen snags two TD's to help Houston win their bowl game after transferring from Oregon, yet Oregon is as deep as ever at WR. Win-win.

Flock Talk: Sheltering Sky

Today, the first day of 2016 brings another edition of Flock Talk, and with this new edition, a bit more "artistic liberty" for the day with quotes from Marcus Aurelius, Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Paul Bowles.

For those that know me, you already know this, for those that do not, I am not a "resolution" person. As in, I consider January 1st a sort of arbitrary date for making life changes, however, the last two years have been somewhat tumultuous at times as a writer... I immensely enjoy providing whatever coverage I am able to bring and am excited for the next twelve months as I look to continue this path.

One thing I can say for sure, I am thinking about the methods with which we can enhance what we do and am excited about the potentialities of what may come. I have already planned the trip to Lincoln, I have some irons in the fire regarding tailgates for 2016, and then there will be a new season which in itself promises hope as always.

Anyway, looking forward to 2016!

DeFo on handling social trouble for the Players

copied this from a web site. This is whatI meant about the coaches having some responsibility.

Oregon defensive end DeForest Buckner said his teammates try avoiding potentially heated situations when out in public.

"Coach always preaches, when something hostile comes amongst one of the players, we got to get our guy out," Buckner said. "We're not here to be tough guys off the field, to try to start up fights and everything. We just try to get our guy out and kind of turn the other cheek in a way, just walk away."

DSA Inside Edge: Alamo Bowl

Okay Folks, here is the article... unfortunately it is rather moot since I wrote this before 2AM this morning!

Anyway, there is a box called "Gameday Central" with links to our other Alamo Bowl articles from the week...

And I reserve the right to amend my prediction... I think that the TCU defense will step up some to help alleviate the projected lower output by the offense, but that TCU probably will not have the offense to keep pace with Oregon now... and Oregon wins 34-21

TCU's Boykin arrested!

I can't link from my phone but just read that he was arrested for striking an officer during a BAR FIGHT at 2AM in San Antonio last night.

Yes, TCU's starting QB was arrested for assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and being drunk in public. According to the article he was there with multiple teammates.

The article stated the fight began when some bar patrons recognized him and started giving him crap about something. Are Duck fans already there and doing work? (No idea if it was Duck fans) The fight spilled outside the bar and police along with bar bouncers tried to break it up when Boynkin hit the officer.

The article (found it in ESPN) did make it sound like it was an accident, hitting the cop.

I will say this though...nothing good ever happens when you are at a bar at 2AM. I know that is when you normally get lucky but she normally has something guys...
