Zach Okun...

Chatted with the RFr OL yesterday about the OL, DL and some getting to know stuff. Zach has been playing C and G this spring and should make the travel squad.

Insights from Zooch:

On Jake Hanson

“Jake is a really good player. He works hard and fights the defense. I think he makes us both better.”

DL standouts

“Drayton Carlberg my roommate. He is having a really good spring. Rex, Austin, T.J. all those guys. Everybody is getting better.”

On other OL having a good spring

“I think Shane Lemieux is having a good spring. Brady (Aiello) Calvin (Throckmorton) all the young guys.”

On this year’s defense and 4-3 base front

“More blitzes. Kind of different keys that you have to look at.”

Zona Add's 3d 5 Star MCBB

https://arizona.n.rivals.com/news/f...-as-five-star-commit-no-3-for-arizona-in-2016

This is the kid who broke the Nike Hoops record for the 3's, I think. Miller is incredible, but you know what, it's best for the P12 and Oregon for the best teams to compete. Once Altman started putting guys in the NBA it should get even better for Oregon to get some one and done's. In the meantime, having an experienced roster is ok too.

Rex Manu...

I caught up with Rex to get his perspective on the 4-3 and spring camp. Manu should see plenty of playing time at one of the two interior DT positions.

On the first half of spring camp

So far the weeks have gone by really fast. We’re just putting in our installs and learning the new defense.

On the new 4-3 base defense

For me personally it is the same kind of defense that I ran in high school. So it’s something that I’m used to and it’s good to be back to it. Coming here my freshman year and having to two-gap, that was something new. But now that we’ve got this new defense it is back to normal. Now I’m just getting used to playing at college speed.

On which OL are standing out to him this spring

The returners like Doug Brenner and Jake Pisarcik, they always put up a tough fight. They are really strong men. A young face you probably know is Jake Hanson at center. He has taken to it really well and he is a good combination of finesse and power. He is really difficult for me personally.

4-star CB Kary Vincent...

I spoke with Oregon's most recent offeree Kary Vincent. Here is his profile but basically he is a CB with a decent frame at 5-11, 175-pounds. The key here is that there is strong mutual interest and he is very fast. In fact he said the reason the offer from Oregon took this long coming is that he had to convince Coach Neal he was serious about his interest. I'm writing it up but he is one we will keep our eyes on.

Watch Pritchard, 4th Qtr, Nike Hoop Summit

It only takes a few minutes, starting at 1hr 7mins. on the film, 3d qtr 1:47 remaining. I didn't realize this was up on YT already. Granted, the game was a blow out, but still....
Ball handling skills, passing, NBA 3 pt range. They talk about how well he did in practice, and perhaps still underrated.
He clangs a left handed dunk attempt, but if you are right handed and can dunk with both hands or your'e dominant hand, you know how hard it is to dunk leftie,.... and how much show boating he was to even try at 6'1".
