Unique Stats from the 2023 College Football Regular Season

There is simply no argument that any conference had a greater claim to elite defense than the Big Ten.

One significant trend that emerged is how UW continually found ways to win close games.

Oregon football recruiting

There is still some time and there will be some movement but it is fun and interesting to look at Oregon's class ranking, ninth for now. Admittedly, HS recruiting classes are less of the answer that they used to be but some help over the next three or four years has to come from these guys. Likely, less than a handful will still be wearing whatever color the Ducks wear when they graduate or move on to the NFL and some of the guys we missed on will be back in town playing ball.

If the old PAC12 still still existed Oregon would probably have another in the string of top classes. They sit at the top, comfortably ahead of 2nd spot USC who probably needs help more than Oregon does. Going into the new conference Oregon is 2nd, behind Ohio State whom they will not pass until they get some wins over the Horse Chestnuts. Michigan with 3 more recruits stands third.

I have to wonder if the Ducks won't go into the B1G with the best starting QB and still have him going when THE comes to town.

These are the days I never dreamed about, or more correctly, could only have dreamed about. Thank God Phil chose to run track in Eugene and established a friendship with Bill Bowerman.

QUAAAACK! Four-star TE Roger Saleapaga commits to Oregon

Roger Saleapaga has his commitment announcement coming up in about 30 minutes. Will he be the 19th four-star commitment for the Ducks in the class? We shall see.

Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama and Utah are the other finalists. The Ducks are the favorites heading into his announcement.

Can Gabe back up Bo in the Fiesta Bowl?

I'm not sure if he will be enrolled in time nor what the rules are for participation in Bowl games. Some things like the red shirt limit don't apply for those games. With Ty gone, several weeks of practice available, and possibly no other available subs at the position it would be a good time to get our first look at Gabriel. Can somebody help me out on the possibility? I could easily see why it wouldn't be allowed. Teams could start recruiting tunnel players for bigger bowl games, but it may not have been anticipated by the rules committee.

Not sure if you guys want to discuss this but

I read on another message board concerning the potential fumble of Penix, that it was indeed a "possible" fumble. The thinking is the his arm was moving forward when he got hit and it was an incomplete pass, not a fumble. But, he pointed out the ball was not thrown forward, which means it's a backwards pass and it should have been a fumble. I watched the video and he sure has a point. It looks to me, from the angle, it was not a forward pass, which means it's a fumble. Oregon did recover as most of you remember.

I am at the point where "it is what it is". I do find it fascinating I didn't consider this at the time as well as Herbie and the crew. Did any of you consider a backwards pass, which is a fumble ???

If your over it and don't care I get it. Just thought it might be something to discuss. Maybe Brandon can find the clip and post it.

UO Women vs Wisconsin

Ladies trail match 1-2 after dropping first two sets. Gutsy set 3 win as Wisconsin tied it late. The ladies are serving very aggressively and really going after the Wisconsin libero who is struggling. Scouting has definitely found a weakness there.

Wisconsis is a BIG team for sure as they have one front row rotation that is 6'9", 6'7", and 6'4". When the Ducks are running tempo to the outside and from back middle they are looking good. Wisconsin block frustrating our hitters at times. Set 4 coming up and Ducks have some momentum.

Hoops tinight

Oregon is on the air tonight between 6:00 and 9:00, depending on where you are watching the game on PAC12 network. I imagine it is also broadcast on KUGN.

Texas Tech is 6-2, having beaten common opponent Michigan 73-57.

Without the big men the Ducks are doing surprisingly well. They should have a decent pre-conference record, though I am going to pessimistically expect a loss tonight.
