Top T&F Athlete narrows to 3

Lauryn just elimated UO from her final four. She'll announce on the 10th. We'll see her compete at Hayward, but not for Oregon. I only mention these disappointments as followups from my previous posts on our being in the hunt. Some feel that Lauryn might be the top recruit in the country because she is so good in so many different events. However, Alyssa Wilson, and Lauren Rain Williams are also arguably at the top in terms of their value to team point totals. and UO is still in contention for them. Sydney McLaughlin is the most accomplished...but she also has multiple talents. All are great in different ways, but Ghee is kind of a Jim Thorpe type"franchise" track recruit.

Interesting RB notes...

I'm uploading my one-on-one from today with Gary Campbell. He had some very interesting notes on his unit. I'll attach the full video interview when it's done. Unfortunately it will be about an hour with my garbage internet.

But in the meantime...

  • Royce Freeman has been injured since Nebraska but is feeling closer to full strength for USC
  • Coach conceded that Royce is feeling frustrated right now not being able to get it done
  • Taj Griffin has been sick all week. I think this means he is unlikely for USC
  • Kanai Benoit has been injured but it sounds like he will be available for USC
  • TBJ is banged up but otherwise good to go for the Trojans. Good thing with all the injuries to this unit
