I just did a quick look back over the past 10 years and the 10th ranked class was generally in the 2000-2300 range, point-wise. We're already over 2000 with more highly ranked kids as potential recruits. If any of our current recruits get bumps up and we land a few more top kids, it's not out of the realm of possibilities to be very near the top.
We have 3 OL's committed right now that weigh over 330 lbs. Dang... I know the old regimes felt smaller bodies were better for their system but these guys also look like they can move pretty well. That is some serious size in the offensive trench. I like it.
This is HUGE for the Alma Mater. I guess that it might be a harbinger of the great things that the Knight Campus will bring to the UO. Talk about a Five Star Recruit!
They only had 20 minutes open today but still enough to gather some notes.
Dillon Mitchell has been sick this week and did not practice again today
Four quarterbacks in the mix with Herbert and Burmeister getting most the snaps, although Demetri Burch looks like he is No. 3 on the depth chart. Walk on Mike Irwin is No. 4
Moving Brenden Schooler to WR seems to have stuck. He was there again today and Coach Taggart said he likes his length and speed there
Cristobal, Salavea and Leavitt were vocal and fired up during warm ups today. Lots of energy
Players very eager to compete. In one-on-ones guys were jostling to be the next guy in, even had a mini "fight" over it
Lots of depth at RB. Ducks should be very solid there this year
WR a bit thin but having Schooler there will help with that. I bet he gets snaps at WR every game.
Whatever all this was about, there won't be any charges:
"After reviewing the case facts, and consulting with the alleged victim and the investigating officers, the county attorney’s office declined criminal prosecution in the matter,”
In the first three installments of our ‘Remember Me?’ series we looked at former five-stars, former Rivals250 quarterbacks and former Rivals250 offensive players who are set to re-emerge at new college programs this fall. But with so many big names transferring every year, there are plenty more former high-profile recruits hoping to resurrect their careers or improve their draft stock at new programs this fall. Here’s a look at six former defensive four-stars set to play for new schools this fall.
SCOTT PAGANO
A native of Hawaii, Pagano elected to get away from home and picked Clemson over UCLA, Alabama, LSU and Florida. After redshirting in 2013, he worked his way into the lineup over the next few years, capping it off by playing a major role in Clemson’s run to a national championship in 2016. But a crowded depth chart led to Pagano transferring and he landed at Oregon, where he has a chance to see serious playing time if he can recover from an offseason injury.
He's a 5-star dual threat QB from Georgia listed as uncommitted. We offered as did most other big5 schools. But I'm not that familiar with him. Any idea if we have any chance with him?
"The Neumann-Goretti offensive lineman had already revealed his decision to Ducks offensive line coach Mario Cristobal, and now he just had to tell the head man. So when Taggart dismissed all camp attendees from a meeting except for Oregon’s current commits, Johnson left before consulting with Cristobal if it was the right time. It was, Cristobal said, so Johnson returned to the room.
“This room is for commits only,” Taggart told Johnson when he re-entered.
