I HATE BASHING BURMEISTER !!!!!

The poor kid is under amazing pressure. Yes, I know he signed up for it, but he is not even close to being ready to lead a Pac 12 team. The biggest problem right now is the inefficiency at quarterback is affecting the whole team. The carry over to this team, knowing that the most important position on the team is inept will eventually beat you down. Burneister may be a Pac 12 quarterback in the future, but not now and I bet he even knows it. WT does, guaranteed. WT had 2 very capable backups but they both left when they realized Herbert was NFL caliber. There is nothing he could have done to stop these 2 players from transferring, who grew up in an era of instant gratification. This board beats up on WT for not passing the ball and when he does, Burneister under throws the ball by 10 yards, with no touch and it gets intercepted. Maybe WT knows what he is dealing with. WT has impressively turned around 3 programs. His recruiting is ridiculous and off the charts. The talented coaches he surrounded himself with is the envy of the Pac 12. His defensive coordinator is one of the best I have ever seen. The attacks are a joke of an unrealistic fan base, who have been spoiled beyond belief. Our success with Chip Kelly was a once in a generation, if that, accomplishment. But, we still have Phil, we still have our facilities, we still have the home court advantage and we have a staff that is positioned and is positioning us for potential greatness again. Give me a break ! WT pulled out a great recruiting class with a month to go last year and this year we will be top 10. We got a quarterback committed for the future, and have a potential first round NFL quarterback on the roster now, who by the way is injured. Those of you that can't handle it right now need to go find a new hobby on Saturday. When we get this ship right, we will let you know. I beat the hell out of Helfrich. I thought he was way out of his league and it was painful to watch him destroy such a special and historical run. But I refuse
to attack WT until he proves he can't win with the team he builds and you should too!!!!!!

Story: Willie Taggart and other coaches recruiting above their pay grade in 2018

USA Today released its annual college football coaches salary database recently and there was plenty of discussion about which of the nation’s highest-paid coaches are actually earning their keep in terms of on-field performance. But what about from a recruiting perspective? Today we look at the database and cross reference it with the class of 2018 recruiting rankings to see which coaches are a bargain for their efforts on the recruiting trail.

WILLIE TAGGART, OREGON

Current recruiting ranking: 5
Current salary ranking: 42

Taggart’s first year in Eugene has seen its share of ups and downs, but there’s no doubting his ability to recruit and assemble a staff that can do the same. Oregon’s rise up the rankings has been aided by out-of-state recruiting, with players like Rivals100 wide receiver Warren Thompson, a Florida native, headlining the class. Because of his ties to Florida, a relatively low salary and his recruiting prowess, Taggart’s name has already been mentioned in relation to the open Florida job. Some were surprised when Oregon reached across the country to hire Taggart, but if the current class holds it will be the best Ducks class since the heart of the Chip Kelly era.

Ball lays egg vs Blazers

So much hype and a father determined to make him a target of every team's best perimeter defender is a recipe for...and egg vs Lillard and the Blazers. Time will tell, but it's beginning to look like Lonzo needed more time in college, if for nothing else, develop a more consistent shot.

Bell in 12 minutes PT, 5 RB, 3 Asst's, 2 steals, 1 block, 2 pts.

Your'e in West Linn at a party with 2 Fusky grads, people from LA.... and your'e the only UO parent with ALL the rest of em with kids at OSU, now? I tell you what you do, you talk about how good WL is doing in track, FB and BB. I had to listen to the UW fight song sung to the tune of the Little Bugle Boy of company B.. lost that bet. We invited them all over for the Beaver Bowl....

ATQ Player Profiles: Pritchard

ATQ has reviewed this year's roster, and if you review what we have this year it's hard not to have some patient optimism. Pritchard is one of the big reasons, and I can't wait for him have a a bigger share in scoring points while some of the new guys adjust to CBB. I wonder if Calipari would have just cut him lose to shoot at will against Canada, could the outcome have been different?

Anyway, ATQy have links to the other players too, and nice short highlight reels.
One thing that seems to get PP in trouble are his incredibly quick hands on defense. Ref's seem to call "reaching in" fouls on him without really seeing any contact. Pretty sure that careful video review would show that at least half of those calls against him were not fouls. I hope the ref's can adjust to his speed! We will need him on the floor.

TRAAACK

It looks like the women just received their second verbal commitment. Ironically this one has the same last name as the other one. Tori Sloan competes in the heptathlon. She attends Mt. View High School in Rock Mountain Idaho. Tori placed 7th in the heptathlon at the US Junior National Championships. Like a lot of multi competitors from high school , it is hard to get much info on her. She has gone over 5'8" in the high jump. She finished second in the high jump at the Idaho high school championships. Her most impressive achievement appears to be in the heptathlon. I'll go with 3 stars for now. As we learn more, we may want to adjust that upward.

Congratulations Tori, and welcome to Track Town!
