MBB Battle for Atlantis

Seriously loaded tourney this coming season, with Seton Hall opener, and probably the Zags if they can beat SH. UNC, UM....some good teams. Not sure if the format would allow more than 2 games, but you can probably guess the match up I want to see,.

Edit, found the pairings. Looks like 2x elimination. From Goducks.com

Does anyone have experience with BallerTV?

Trolling around today to see if I could find videos of WBB recruits playing at Nike Girls EYBL and came across this service that appears to be broadcasting it, along with much, much more. Annual subscription is $90 and I am wondering if anybody here has any experience they can share about this service.
Thanks, in advance, for anything you can provide.

The key factors to winning in college football

Bill Connelly, now with ESPN, broke down every game of the 2013 to compile this data. He finds that it's very reliable and consistent from year to year:

  • If you win the explosiveness battle (using PPP), you win 86 percent of the time.
  • If you win the efficiency battle (using Success Rate), you win 83 percent of the time.
  • If you win the drive-finishing battle (using points per trip inside the 40), you win 75 percent of the time.
  • If you win the field position battle (using average starting field position), you win 72 percent of the time.
  • If you win the turnover battle (using turnover margin), you win 73 percent of the time.
It's part of a longer and very informative article on advanced stats and what they mean:

Ranking the PAC-12 Coaches

So much of this is based on perception and past reputation. Cristobal gets downgraded because of his record at FIU, but he inherited a winless team with no administrative support and terrible facilities, winning a conference title and setting a school record for wins in his 4th season.

There may be some shuffling of this list by this time next year. Top to bottom, the conference has a strong group of coaches.

Kelly seems a little high. He was great at Oregon but he seems to have lost something after two stints in the pros. He's doubled down on the stubborn while the game continues to change and players have also.

Petersen always gets ranked first. But when you consider the talent and challenges they have (geography, academics, nontraditional football school, etc.) Shaw, Leach and Whittingham are all accomplished, consistent winners who get a lot out of their talent.

How would you rate them, and where do you think CMC might be in a season or two?

Herbert the #1 NFL draft pick?

SI says so in their early predictions.

1. Miami Dolphins (+12500): Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
The more NFL people I talk to about Herbert, the more smitten the league seems with him. Physically, his combination of size, arm strength and athleticism is rare. At this point, the big question is how the Eugene native will adapt to leaving his hometown. Some teams will like Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa more. But Herbert seems very worthy of the first pick and might’ve been the first quarterback taken in 2018 (if he’d come out, and a team not led by Kliff Kingsbury had the first pick.)

2. Cincinnati Bengals (+10000): Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
Size might be the only drawback here. But at Bama’s junior Pro Day, he came in between 6' and 6' 1" and at 230 pounds, meaning he has enough height, and plenty of bulk. And as a quarterback, he’s refined and advanced, with top-shelf accuracy and field vision, a good ability to change speeds on his ball, and fantastic feel for the game. His health will be watched closely by NFL teams in the fall, after the end of last season was marred by injuries.

Best barbecue you ever ate

Mine has to be the ribs at Podnah's Pit with a side of jalapeno marcaroni and cheese, although I am very fond of good smoked brisket (always want some of the burnt ends). How is the cooking at Philyaw's joint? He fed the Ducks today. Scott, have you found any decent barbecue in South Carolina? I know you eat very healthy these days, but c'mon: barbecue.

Also, are y'all pro cornbread or meh cornbread?
