I love Scott and Austin Faoliu, but I think they are better with Williams and Dorlus on the DL. Also, Faoliu and Mase Funa sharing time and both are very good players. With more young guns coming in next season, I see the defense being like last season or even better. Both Flowe brothers and keith Brown in the mix. Dontae Manning and a bigger Swinson. . Unless forgetting someone, 12 of their top 16 players underclassman and of the 4 seniors, the only one that would be a top half of the draft pick is probably Lenoire, so maybe the rest of them will come back. Anyway, the defense played their ass off Saturday night, and especially those young Defensive lineman were relentless

A friend's son is a Soph. at Lakeridge and is getting invited to camps all over the west. The latest invite is the USA FB camp in TX. Wondering if anyone knows much about this outfit. He just went to Las Vegas for a camp and his Mom is trying to figure out if this one is good, worth it....Obviously, the more exposure against elite talent the better. Is USA FB one that feeds into the "All American Bowl," ie, the old Army Game? If anypne has any experience with USA FB would love to hear from you. They seem to call it try outs for the "National Team," whatever that means.

Would loved to have seen the game yesterday but the cancelation, to be rescheduled on a date available for both teams, provides a nice opportunity. Kepnang has a few more days to practice before he first appears against a woeful California team, at home. After that he has a little more time before his second game. If the contest with UCLA is in or after late January, Richardson may also be back.

Sounds like mid Jan - Feb. He might miss a couple games, lol.....

Coach Boom

So, the Auburn coaching search makes a dumpster fire look like a really fun road trip. I mean, Sark has pulled out, Billy Napier turned them down and now, apparently, Bill Clark - the UAB head coach - has pulled out of the search. That's right UAB; a team that gave itself the death penalty a few years ago; has a head coach that does not want to go to the SEC.

Why? Because it has become very clear to everyone that the head coach does not get to choose his staff. he gets who the boosters want and he will like it. He also has about 18 bosses. Yes, every Power 5 coach has boosters that he has to placate; but most boosters don't say 'hire XYZ or we will not hire you' to a brand new HC. So he has to answer to (I think it is a cohort of 9) boosters AND the athletic director. I mean, who on earth wold want that job right now?

Even sadder, there is a large minority of vocal Auburn fans that STILL think they can offer Mario $7mil per and he would take it. Even though they know why all those others turned it down, they think Mario would ignore nthat $hit show and take it anyway. The delusion is real!

One note: give me $1 mil/year guaranteed in full and tell me who you want me to hire and I am there, LOL!

I realize that there another LOI day coming as well as graduate transfers...but wow. I don't believe that they are gonna make that big of a difference, and not really a great way to build a team.
