we better bring our "A" game cuz' they are good football team! They have a RB with 1436 yards and 19 total TD's for instance!!
Defensive number that stood out is two things....28 sacks in 10 games AND the top three tacklers are LBers...rare today!!

Oregon added inside linebacker Jonathan Flowe to its 2021 recruiting class yesterday on the final day of the December signing period.

A four-star recruit, Flowe joins the highest-rated recruiting class in Oregon history as its 21st member. The Upland, Calif. native adds to Oregon’s haul of ESPN300 recruits, checking in at No. 135 on the list. His addition brings Oregon’s total of ESPN300 recruits to 15 in the class. Flowe, who will join his brother Justin at Oregon, is a consensus top-5 California outside linebacker.

Oregon’s 2021 class is the highest-ranked class in the Pac-12, checking in at No. 5 nationally by Rivals and No. 6 according to 247Sports and ESPN. The class includes Oregon’s first-ever five-star prospects at quarterback (Ty Thompson) and on the offensive line (Kingsley Saumataia).

Shough was the real deal and then he wasn't.*

Before the USC game, I was wondering about the QB rotation going forward from this year.

If Shough is the guy and he is only a sophomore, we are gonna have a log jam at the position.

Especially with a year of blanket eligibility.

So, for sake of this conversation, it would appear the QB room will look something like this:

SHOUGH 3 years to play
BROWN 1 year to play
BUTTERFIELD 4 years to play
MILLEN 4 years to play
ASHFORD 4 years to play
THOMPSON 4 years to play

That's pretty deep and exciting, but there is no way it's gonna stay like that. Barring injuries, there are not gonna be enough snaps for everybody.

If Shough does not get better fast, (I hope he does, but I'm not feeling it)...who's the future? Brown, perhaps, but he's a one year stop gap if he returns.

Butterfield is supposed to be awesome, Millen is a 4 star and the best QB out of the state of Washington and Ashford is a 4 star and the best QB out of Alabama.

And who the heck is gonna be able to keep Thompson on the bench?

My feeling is that Shough is gonna come out of Spring ball as #1 with Brown as #1A. I think he might have earned/ will earn more PT. I know coaches want to have just one guy at QB, but I don't see that happening as of right now.

So, who then is the backup? The smart money seems to be on Butterfield (why does everybody seem to count out Millen?)

And then, after next year...can Shough/and the rest of them beat out Thompson?

Lots of questions...kinda fun.

*I realize that Shough was "new" this year and that the line sucked and he did not get all of the normal off-season practices and they put in a new offense, etc., but I really wonder about his ability. His deep ball is terrible, the RPO decisions seem to be lacking, etc.

I am really pulling for the kid and with another off-season of coaching and maturing he will possibly be great...but I wonder.

“The College Football Playoff Management Committee and Tournament of Roses have mutually agreed that, given the growing number of COVID-19 cases in Southern California, the CFP semifinal game previously scheduled to be played at the Rose Bowl Stadium will now be played at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX.

“The game in Dallas will still be played in the mid-afternoon window on New Year’s Day.

“We are pleased that parents and loved ones will now be able to see their students play in the game.

“We are very grateful to Rose Bowl officials and the City of Pasadena. They have worked hard to listen to the concerns of the CFP, the teams that might have played there, and their state and government officials. The Tournament of Roses has acted in the best interest of the people who live in Southern California. And we’re grateful to Cotton Bowl and AT&T Stadium officials for their ability to make this late switch possible.

“Add this to the list of ways 2020 has demanded flexibility and last-minute accommodation from everyone in college football. Given all the complexities and difficulties involved, this is the best outcome for everyone concerned.”

Will it be Notre Dame, Oklahoma or Northwestern versus Oregon.

Ugly? Maybe. But it is a Pac-12 title.

He deserves his own thread here. He showed exactly what I had heard before the season. I wish he had been available more because what we saw tonight was just a glimpse. IT is going to be fun to watch him the next couple of years.

And, for what it's worth, my wife adopted him as her fifth child at the Poly Bowl in 2019. He is also a very funny kid...

The PAC-12 Network mentioned we only had 54 players available. Isn’t 53 the point where you can’t play or am I wrong?
If all true, talk about skating by with a razor thin amount of available guys...sheesh!

The transfer portal has made the process much easier for student athletes and with the rise in talent on this team and playing time going to be limited for many on both sides of the ball so who should we be concerned about a transfer being announced over the next few months? I am not going to name anyone but will go by position.

Man the OL was nasty and that Sermon is the real deal, speed, power, vision etc.! A school record 331 yards rushing against the 6th best rushing defense statistically in the country!!
