Dan Lanning spoke at his weekly press conference about preparations and Michigan State. We gathered some thoughts on his comments. Here is our report on tonight's press conference:

Aiden Harris is a 6-foot-5, 255-pound strongside defensive end from Weddington High School in Matthews, NC. The 4-star Class of 2026 player ranked No. 4 at the position, No. 6 in the state, and No. 51 in the nation for the cycle spoke about his recruitment from Oregon in an exclusive interview with Duck Sports authority.

He listed the Ducks alongside Tennessee, Ohio State, Miami, and Ole Miss as standout programs.

On why Oregon stands out alongside those powerhouse eastern programs, most of which are big-name, Power Four programs, he said that "(Oregon) is just a super cool team."

Harris wants to visit Eugene as soon as possible to experience everything that the program has to offer. "I'm going to fly out there as soon as possible to go see everything," he said.

The easygoing, welcoming nature of the Ducks' coaching staff has helped set them apart over offers from 22 Division 1 teams, most who are big-name programs from the Power Four. "All of the coaches are cool. If I call one of them, I will be able to talk to the manager and the whole staff on the phone," Harris said.

2026 Oregon QB Commit goes off

Jonas Williams had an impressive game against a very good opponent. Some have reported that winds were gusting to the 20s so this was an even more impressive performance under the circumstances! Completed 21 for 25 for 305 yards and 6 TD passes tonight as he led his team to victory.

UCLess game score guessing contest results

Interesting week .. Rockin, Cody, and Quantum all picked the UCLess score correctly while Tar came closest to nailing the Ducks tally, missing by a point. For a surprisingly rare occurrence only 64Oregon was on the spread. With his correct spread and missing the team totals by a FG each 64Oregon grabbed the honors for the week, followed closely by the other guys who pick the Ruins' score.

B1G this Week .. a peek through vodka glasses

Takes a big gulp

All of the unbeatens except Rutgers seems pretty safe this week. each except the Scarlet Knights favored by 20 or more. speaking of pretty it is that to see Rutgers unbeaten this late in the season and the spread is pretty sure they are going to have a pretty long flight home after the game, or at least those who set the spread ore pretty sure they are going to have Rutgers a touchdown extra to make pile A equal pile B. Not so fast, my friend, I'm not that impressed with Nebraska and think maybe we are still going to have a quartet of unbeatens.

Oregon is going to cover 24 against MSU (I hope)

Purdue is still finding depth and won't cover 12 in Wisconsin.

28 1/2 isn't enough for the Ruins to be getting in Happy Valley

Iowa's D is good again this year but I don't feel they can stay within 20 1/2 in the Shoe

Indy will probably cover the pair of TD's they are giving NW, even on the road

As I guessed Rutgers will be more than 7 points better than Nebraska

I can't believe UW is giving Big Blue a field goal, even in Seattle. This would be my number one bet .. if I ever bet (any more, until the local casino gets a sports book :) ) I also wouldn't know who I WANTED to win unless I wanted Michigan to remain highly rated until they host the Ducks and the Mongrels to finish at the bottom of the conference both of which I do so ...

USC is giving the boat rowers 9 on the road and should cover. Since we don't play the Condumbs this year, I hope they don't. It's about time for them to make an unexpected face plant.

time for another gulp

This weekend Linkon Cure popped up at Kansas for a visit. That's not what will interest you guys about his recruitment. He mostly took that trip because his brother is on the team. The intriguing thing here is that Cure told me he will very likely visit Oregon again. No date has been set just yet but look for it to happen.

We know that Dan Lanning is relentless and the Ducks have really locked in on pulling Cure out of the Midwest.

Duck Wrap: Episode 2

Welcome to our second weekly Duck Wrap where we look at all the news from non-revenue sports for the week that was. For the week ending 9.29.30 this is what I found:

Women’s Soccer:Oregon lost 1-0 to Purdue in a closely contested match at Papé Field. Despite an even game in terms of shots and fouls, Purdue's goal from a corner kick in the 10th minute proved to be the difference. Oregon pressed for an equalizer but couldn't capitalize. The Ducks’ best chance came in the 71st minute, but Purdue’s goalkeeper stopped the play. Oregon's goalie, Maddy Goldberg, made four saves. Head coach Graeme Abel highlighted the team’s second-half improvement but expressed disappointment in conceding the goal from a set piece.

Women’s Volleyball:No. 11 Oregon volleyball defeated Indiana 3-1, extending their winning streak to 10 matches and improving to 2-0 in Big Ten play. Key players included Mimi Colyer and Michelle Ohwobete, who each recorded double-doubles. The Ducks controlled the match with strong blocking (11.0 total blocks) and contributions across the board. Indiana posed a challenge, but Oregon pulled ahead in critical moments to secure the win. The Ducks now prepare for their first Big Ten road trip with matches at Ohio State and Penn State.

Men’s Cross Country:The No. 22 Oregon men’s cross country team placed third at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Simeon Birnbaum (14th) and Benjamin Balazs (17th) led the team with top-20 finishes. Oregon's top five runners all placed in the top 24. The team finished behind top-ranked Oklahoma State and No. 8 New Mexico but ahead of No. 24 Texas. The Ducks will host the Bill Dellinger Invitational in two weeks.

Men’s Golf:The Oregon men’s golf team will compete in the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational, facing a strong field of top-ranked teams. After an 11th-place finish at The Tindall, the Ducks look to improve. Aiden Krafft, Greyson Leach, and Jay Gould-Healy, who all posted top-25 finishes last week, are key players to watch. The team aims to build on past success at Colonial Country Club.

Sunday Morning Sidewalk: Wins are better than losses

Like others this win was weirdly unstasfying - even on a rewatch. The team that played for the firt 29-plus minutes looked elite. And then they went into a shell. But wins are still better than losses. My Sunday Morning thoughts:

Tez Johnson, Jordan Burch, and Dillon Gabriel talk about Oregon's 34-13 win over UCLA

Following what was a dominant defensive performance, but a sort of uneven offensive game, Tez Johnson, Dillon Gabriel, and Jordan Burch talked about the win. Here is our story featuring their comments:

The Rose Bowl The Rose Bowl ! UCLess game Score guessing contest

As promised, I have here in my currently unstained hand 5 football cards.
Troy Dye rookie card
Brian Hinkle card
Gary Zimmerman card
Coach John Robinson card
Deion Sanders either Rookie or second season card (I'll check later) Gotta believe if you are going to win this thing.

Scoring is different this year and while the main winner gets the cards, the secondary one gets the glory.. Main winner is most points
The third guy can just brag a little. Second it the guy with the best average score (minimum of 7 games) Third guy is the one with the most wins.
Yep, it's possible for one of you (or me) to claim all three

Scoring is simpler this year
100 points for correctly picking the winner
50 points for each exact score for a team in the game
25 for the correct spread
To determine the weekly winner in case of a tie is first one in.

Some of you lurkers, please come out of the shadows for just this one little thing. We'd be happy to have you and one of us 2nd year veterans is bound to keep you out of the bottom spot.

I'll post that at the top for a couple more weeks for the benefit of new players who stumble onto this thing.

I watched us play two weeks ago and this week's enemy this past weekend and I still have no idea what the score is going to be so that qualifies me to predict the Ducks will beat the 25ish spread in a game that will end in in anything but what I'm guessing

45-10 (Ducks win, of course))
