Stoney Brook
Stoney brook is 0-1 in the CAA, losing to 1st place New Hampshire, once the employer of a future Offensive coordinator for Oregon, if I remember correctly. I have no idea what CAA is an abbreviation for, and haven’t been driven to look any deeper than the conference home page which did not leak the info. You’d think I’d know since the Maine Black Bears (0-2) are members. At least I know what Maine’s mascot is without research. I think it must be a very strong conference though.

Rhode Island | Richmond | Stony Brook | Towson | Villanova | William & Mary
I have heard of all of the schools and been on the campuses (campi ?) of three of them, none during football season. I even watched a play, (theater, not football) at Bill and Mary when I was still a young pup in the navy.
I posted a game story somewhere in the forum so you guys would know I am really looking into this challenge. The Sea Wolves really chewed up the Colgate Toothpaste Tubes (did I miss on that one?). Hope they rinsed their jaws and flossed afterward.
I really hate to jinx the Ducks, but I’m predicting a 63-0 win (for the Ducks, not the Wolves) with at least two back-up QBs perhaps playing as much as a quarter each and maybe Ashford getting snaps as well. While Oregon won’t want to rub it in, there is a need to send Thompson and Butterfield out with an open playbook and a decent support crew to see what they can do and get blooded.
I’m looking for Seven to be the leading rusher unless CJ or Dye break some big runs. He needs the snaps and they need be to be kept safe, as possible, during this game and perhaps the next as well depending upon how things develop. I doubt Brown will have a called running play during the time he is in the game but will be cautioned about which part of the RPO to choose most often. (IF we see RPO while he is in the game) Cardwell and some of the other guys may touch the ball as well. At least that is the way I would plan the game.
Stoney Brook seems to have made the mistake of being primarily a running team. Ask the Chestnuts how that phase of the game worked for them, even with a bunch of five-stars involved. Their QB just passed the 1000 yd mark slinging the pigskin (I always wanted to use that phrase but never had the guts, before .. and my editors wouldn’t approve, anyway) but may not reach the 1200 mark Saturday.
If Oregon is going to pull off a shut-out this season, this might be the best opportunity. Otherwise, they may have to wait a week, or until they go to Seattle. By the way, 63-0 is my prediction, in case I forget to post later in the week.
