Offer reaction: '23 DT Cameron Brandt

Cameron Brandt is on the rise. The versatile defensive lineman from Sierra Canyon HS in Chatsworth, California is starting to gain steam in his recruitment with several new offers in the last month. Oregon decided to jump in with an offer this week and it surprised the 6-foot-4 recruit. Now he's working on setting up a visit with the Ducks as he continues to explore his options. I talked with him today about the offer from Oregon, and it is clear it is one that is going to hold a lot of weight with him moving forward. He'll visit USC in early March and he already visited Washington and Cal back in January.

“We talked and he was talking about how he liked my film and how he could see me fitting in. Then he said, ‘You got an offer from Oregon.’ I was kind of shocked by that, because Oregon has always been a dream school. Kids want to go to Oregon, so that was kind of crazy for me.”

Windy City Indoor Track

I kept myself away from the live streaming of this in order to be more productive. In reviewing the posts from of the most sophisticated Duck track fans on Chile’s Track Ducks website,
I am much encouraged at the times and marks. The late bloomers are starting to demonstrate why Oregon recruited them.

There are too many things to report. Ultimately, it will be best to get up a link to a synopsis of the day. With maybe one exception, the women and men sprinters are really coming on. We have a couple of “also ran” no name sprint recruits that are now turning heads. Credit smart recruiting and great coaching for the success. The teams need to improve to make the podium at the NCAA Indoor Championships, but they are improving. Let’s see how much more they’ll improve.

Softball with the win 7-3 over Texas State.

The ladies won despite being a bit off so it seems, only 6 hits and gave up nine hits. Texas State was a tourney team last year I believe so not bad competition. T.S. made three errors which helped us. Bunker with a 2 run dinger!! Kliethermes goes to 3-0 in the circle!
Now they play three against Baylor over the next couple days. 6-0 and rolling!!

ANYBODY READY FOR A 2-FER?

From twitter....
Liberty DL Micaiah Overton has entered the transfer portal. Aims to play with five-star brother Lebbeus Overton at next stop. Both will visit #Oklahoma #Oregon and the #Aggies in March. More here

Login to view embedded media Micaiah has switched positions and weighs approximately the same as his brother based upon his current photograph on Twitter.
From Max Torres of Ducks Digest; Micaiah Overton, listed on the 2021 roster at 6'3", 300 pounds, was rated a three-star tight end by 247 Sports in the 2019 recruiting class, coming out of Bessemer Academy in Tuscaloosa, Al. Earlier this week, 247 Sports' Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong reported that the brother duo will be taking a number of visits next month, including trips to Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Oregon

WR's who might surprise us?

Thornton, Franklin and Hutson are no brainers to have big roles, and McGee will probably be a hybrid with a major role. Then after that we have several solid 4 star guys who could come into their own after a messed up CV year in 20 and a limited playing opportunities in 21. Another thing to bear in mind is CDL suggested in a presser when asked about lack of depth at RB that they will have chances to get creative with other playmakers on the roster. Certainly, Hutson and 7 fit that potential mold.

Who of these guys will step up? We haven't seen much of them, but they have had important time to develop. Any walk on's who might see some PT?

Windy City Indoor Track Day 2

I'll try to get up a link to summarize Saturday's results. . I had to miss viewing the meet but I have reviewed the posts on Oregontf twitter and on Chile's track ducks website.

The general feeling is that these kids are really coming on! Their improvement is awe inspiring. The Oregon men and women started the season as underdogs compared to the national powerhouses. I believe that they are still underdogs to make the podium, but I love this team's fight. Congratulations to the coaches for the great job that they are doing. The Chile form chart will give us an idea of where they currently stand nationally. It will not tell us where they will stand when it is all over.

At this point, we will just see if they keep improving going into the Indoor Natty. Oregon T&F is a proud program. They are demonstrating the style that made Oregon Track one of the top college sport's traditions in the country. I'm excited. Go Ducks!

Who should start at Quarterback for the Oregon Ducks in 2022 -- Bo Nix or Ty Thompson?

I’m curious what everybody's take on the QB situation is. Let's discuss!

Here are my thoughts, making the case for each:
