Men's Track Team Performed Great At NCAAs...."but if only"

The men took 6th place in the team final standings behind some spirited and hard fought performances. Had US Olympian ,Micah Williams, not been DQed in the 60m, I believe that he would have finished no lower than 2nd and likely would have won the event. Either way, the Ducks would have made the podium and finished 3rd in the team score.

Congratulations are due to another successful chapter in our storied track team's history.

Disaster Strikes Ducks at NCAA

Oh No!
Micah Williams was DQed for a false start in 60m prelim.

Apparently there was a loud crack in the stands that caused Micah and others to jump. They only DQed Micah. This stinks.

This is devasting in that Micah was likely to finish first or second…scratch 10 possible points and this pretty much takes the team out of reach to make the podium. It also will hurt Micah’s chances of winning the Bowerman Trophy.

This is especially disappointing because the rest of the team had a great day. Now we just have to cheer for good individual performances. The men’s team will not be in the running for a top finish.

Duck baseball vs #2 Stanford

Ducks took game one last night 4-3 on a Tanner Smith home run in the 9th. Big game one win especially since regular Friday night starter Adam Maier did not pitch. Ducks looking for the BIG series win tomorrow to open Pac 12 play.

First spring practice -- we've got you covered ...

With Aaron in Vegas for the Pac-12 tournament and Jacob on the road today, we're excited to have Gabriel Marvin make his debut for us out at spring practice No. 1. He'll be over at the field in about an hour as things get going. We're only allowed to watch the first 15-20 minutes, and then Dan Lanning has a Zoom call with us at noon.

Gabriel will drop some observations in here and then have a full "Takeaways and Observations" writeup, plus a second story from the Zoom call.

On Saturday, Gabriel and Jacob will tag-team practice.

The fun begins!
