Announcement: Aug. 17; 2:15 p.m. PDT
Finalists: Oregon, Arizona, Cal, Washington
California edge rusher Jaeden Moore looked like he was bound to make a decision in the fall as he continued to pick up more interest and offers plus take more visits this summer. Instead, he has quickly shifted course and will announce his decision this week as he has gone public with his plans to pick a school this Wednesday. He also named a final group today consisting of Oregon, Arizona, Cal and Washington. The Ducks are a newcomer to the party and actually offered him while he was on a visit to Washington (which is pretty funny) and quickly became a major player ever since that point. He's definitely a top priority for the other schools on his list, but Oregon will end up being the last school to host him on a visit before his decision after he visited Eugene for SNL a couple weeks ago. The Ducks have been trending since offering him, and at this point it does feel like the Ducks have moved into the "team to beat" category. Still doing some more digging to get some true clarity on that, since he has played this one pretty close the vest all along, but Oregon certainly has to feel good about the direction this recruitment has taken up to this point.
He's definitely a really impressive recruit and someone a lot of schools are now starting to notice of heading into his senior season. He put together a really impressive offseason and fits what most teams are looking for at the edge rusher spot.
