Fifth Quarter 2023: Colorado

On the day that summer officially turned to fall, the Oregon defense started heating up and played their best football in at least 4 seasons. While this is not what anyone would have called a perfect game or even a complete game, the sheer and utter dominance in every phase of the game for Oregon yesterday was a thing of beauty at times and yet there were still some flaws that give teachable moments for Dan Lanning and the Oregon football team.
Offensively it was not quite as clean as it could have been an unforced error led to Bo Nix’s first interception of the year and there were some early cracks in pass protection that led to some early pressures and a sack.
Continuing our post game tradition, we look back at the win over Colorado with our Fifth Quarter analysis.

Kenjon Barner on Lanning’s Pre Game Speech

I hesitated to post this. Kenjon has a great sense of humor, and let’s face it there is an irony in Coach Lanning’s speech. Once we get away from the emotion, some pregame speeches can actually seem kind of ridiculous.

Kenjon seems like a fun guy. However, he was not fun for opposing defenses. I love people who find humor in life. I wish that he was on our board.Notice the ring on his finger?

Colorado game score guessing

This is, of course VERY early since I won't be here post it. Somebody is going to have to dig back into the old postings to dredge it up. I nominate Fish or Quinny but anybody is welcome to do do.
I'll be back to post results of this and the Hawaii game

Using my usual bank of knowledge I'm closing my eyes and entering my prediction

Whittington down for at least the 'next few weeks'

From Lanning: “I don’t normally talk about injuries and I think there is still more to be decided here, but I think Noah is going to be down for a bit,” Lanning said. “I need everyone to say prayers for him. He’s healthy. He’s OK. But he’s probably going to be down for a little bit. I need everyone to have Noah in your prayers. That is a tough kid who we’re really proud of and fortunate to have. There are bright days ahead for Noah. I just don’t know that we will have him in here in the next few weeks.”

I would imagine the 'more to be decided here' is about the consideration of a redshirt season.
