Central Michigan guard Jesse Zarzuela has announced his commitment to Oregon. The 6-foot-3 guard from Houston has been well traveled throughout his career with stops at UTEP, two different junior colleges, Coppin State and then CMU. He has one season of eligibility left and he will now use it to play for the Ducks after a recent visit to Eugene. Zarzuela averaged 16.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists last season making him another scoring threat for Dana Altman's team heading into the fall.
Plenty of programs have been in pursuit of the veteran transfer to varying degrees including Arizona, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and George Mason. He previously visited George Mason before visiting Oregon and Pittsburgh had been pushing for a visit from him as well.
Instead, he's wrapped up his recruitment and is now part of Oregon's plans for the upcoming season.
