Not All Negative

I realize I might have not made my point that clear.

It's the offense I'm unhappy with, specifically the offensive line. They aren't good...not even remotely close. I'm also extremely unhappy with the offensive play calling. Going deep on almost every throw when the opponent blitzes like crazy is simply asking to get beat up. It's just stupid.

Anyway...I should have also added in my other thread how happy I am with the defensive side of the ball. They aren't there yet, but the effort (which was not there last year), as well as the actual play on the field has been pretty darn good. Although they could only go up from where we were.

Especially the Defensive Line. They have been really good all season.

It tends to go that the extremes of winning and losing also bring out the extremes in our reactions. My thoughts break down to this: On the field, a team is never as bad as their worst moment and never as good as their best. They are somewhere in between and in constant change. Each game is its own dynamic and sometimes the learning curve of a dozen freshmen along with an entire new culture fall prey to unknown variables.

Death by Dirty Laundry

I was at this game in Tempe and penalties doomed us. I understand that we are a young team and that its the first year for everyone but there comes a time when the team should turn a corner with the procedure miscues. Next year the incoming class will have mentors that have been in the system for a year but damn its frustrating to see my beloved Ducks beat themselves drive after drive on both sides of the ball. Patience I suppose.
