Among the salient points:

Justin Herbert's a more assertive leader than people assume.

He regularly gets the receiver group together to work on their game.

The two are developing some chemistry on and off the practice field.

Herbert's arm talent exceeds anything he's seen before.

Offense this year

There may be no better comparison for our talent right now on offense than the New England Patriots offense. Multiple backs, 1 solid wide out, 1 legit slot player, a dominant TE and the GOAT QB.

If Arroyo and Cristobal could spend some time with Josh McDaniel and see how he plans for and attacks a defense we could be scary good on offense.

Bouk will get the most out of our receivers and are RB’s are more than serviceable and are all very good receivers out of the backfield. McCormick, Breeland and Webb will be match up nightmares and Johnson and Addison could both develop nicely.

Scheme and match ups. Plug and play, NE has been a master of it and we could learn something from them. Same with what KC is doing too.

Victor Bailey Transfers to Tennessee

Bailey transfers out instead of returning to the team. That leaves the following returners according to 2018-2019 roster:

1. Pritchard (SG)
2. Okoro (PF)
3. Richardson (PG)
4. Johnson (PG)

We have 4 commits and 1 transfer

1. CJ Walker (F)
2. Isaac Johnson (C)
3. Chandler Lawson (F)
4. Chris Duarte (F)
5. Eric Williams (SG) (Transfer)

That leaves 3 spots on the roster yet to fill. Would of been nice to hang on to Wooten, Norris and Bailey to bolster the experience. Now coaches are scrambling to fill the roster and how those unknown players fit with recruits and returners is an unanswered question of chemistry. If you’re Duke or Kentucky and you replace open roster spots with top 25 players every year it makes things a little easier but Oregon isn’t Kentucky or Duke. Altman always seems to bring the team together toward the end of the season but Arizona and Washington took a big step forward this year while a promising Oregon recruiting class finished with a fizzle then took some hits with Wooten opting out and Norris and Bailey transfers.

Another Sprinter Commits to Oregon TRAAAAACK

Gaston Bouchereau who ran unattached this year, but has collegiate eligibility and has run 100m: 10.29/ 200m: 20.75 (both legal times) is going to come to Oregon. He visited this weekend, after an earlier visit to USC, and committed to Oregon. This is a huge pickup for the Oregon sprint corps..

Gaston won the Collegiate Section of the 100 a couple months ago at Mt Sac taking down Oraine Palmer and USC's top sprinter in the process.

MBB Team Still in the Hunt?

Even with all the departures, 22/1 isn't too bad. It's all just water in the wind, but many pre season polls had dropped the Ducks altogether.

Per Jeff Greer
Updated hoops national title odds, post-NBA Draft withdrawal deadline, per @betonline_ag: Kentucky 15/2 Duke 6/1 Michigan State, Virginia 8/1 Michigan 12/1 North Carolina 14/1 Gonzaga, Villanova 16/1 Kansas, Marquette, Oregon 22/1 Louisville, Memphis 25/1 Arizona 28/1
