Pritchard's Record Breaking Career, So Far

This should be the icing on the cake year for Pritchard, and the article traces some of the records he's made and more he should break this year. I don't think they will be able to lay off his colleagues this year as they have in all but his Fr year, when he helped take the team to the FF. Especially if the Ducks have great year, he should haul in some serious hardware.

Big trouble in little Dawg town

Prior to the season Dawg fans were woofing about how much better Jacob Eason was going to be than Justin Herbert.

His hype train has run into a Bear and a Tree:.

3 nonconference games:
(3-0): Eason 77.5%, 901 yards, 10 TDs, 1 INT, 1 sack
3 Pac-12 games: (1-2): 54.3%, 548 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs, 7 sacks

Against Stanford, 18 of Eason's 36 pass attempts went to WR Aaron Fuller. Talk about locking in on one guy.

Meanwhile the defense has struggled to stop the run, they've dropped conference games to Cal at home and at Stanford, and they have a PAC-12 After Dark contest Saturday night at Arizona, not an easy place for UW to play in recent seasons. Plus it's an 8:00 p.m. Pacific time start.

Some Husky fans are even beginning to question Chris Petersen. On Monday Roman Tomashoff of Fanside posted a column entitled Washington football needs to make some big changes.

"Washington football was embarrassed by Stanford on Saturday night, and the lack of offensive efficency is becoming clearer and clearer every week."

The Ducks have a prime opportunity to unravel the Husky program October 19th in Seattle. A third (possibly fourth) conference loss would send the critics into a dither.

Clonzano interviews CU Coach Mel Tucker

He gives a nice interview. Hope he has some luck there. Interesting guy. Friends with Mario, I guess from Bama days.
CU has the potential to come back to the glory days, but it would have to start in state, Cally.... The campus and women are awesome...dated one myself while at CSU. Ski bunnies, lol. Much like UW, there's some history there, and with the right coach....

OT: FS1 vs Dish

I have Dish, and they have banned all Fox programming, so I won't be able to watch the Colorado game Friday night. Can anyone clue me into a site that is streaming the game? Is PAC12 going to replay/show the game as a game following the actual game? Any info would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

NFL Scout

From Canzano:

"An NFL scout in the press box on Saturday night told me on his way out, “If you have one of the best quarterbacks in the country, why wouldn’t you make it your job every week to get him going?"

I asked: “Do you like their plan?”

The answer came: "I’m not sure what their plan is right now.”"

I realize that we were rolling on the Bears and had miscues, I realize that JH was off but I still wonder about the game plan.

I also wonder about MC's use of timeouts......still.

Just saying.

Fifth Quarter: California

The offense was not as bad as it looked and the defense was not as good as a 7 point performance? There were a lot of things to like and dislike on both sides of the ball.

I thought the game plan and adjustments were good offensively; but this team was out of sync, lacked focused and seemed undisciplined. Coming out of a bye week, that was unexpected. If I were to point to a coaching flaw in this game, that would be it. The Ducks left a minimum of 21 points on the field due to execution errors; fumbles, uncharacteristically bad throws by Herbert. Had the Ducks converted on those lost opportunities, the thought of a 38-7 win would seem much more appealing.

Athletic Diversity and Daewood Davis

The productivity of Daewood Davis has been impressive this season. He has stepped up on both sides of the ball and also on Special Teams. Unselfish to a fault, and impressive to the Maximum.

Would it make any since to include a defensive package that included Daewood as a extra nickel, dime or other name to help out situationally when an opposing team may indicate pass? Deawood is long, fast, has great ball skills and is a savvy football player.

No doubt, I am not the first to think of this, however, it would be helpful to hear from some of our more experienced moderators or members opine on this question? Go Ducks, PMM

Pittman and the passing game

Great to get him and Schooler back for the Cal game, and both made some nice plays.

Herbert found Schooler for 21 yards in the first half.

Pittman impressed the heck out of me. First game back from a shoulder injury and he makes two great diving catches and then catches two balls over the middle on slant routes.

With the defense on the field the Fox cameras caught him on the sideline talking to Justin Herbert, talking about (it looked like) what he's seeing on the field and how he can beat the coverage. He's got hunger. He's a student of the game.

Afterward Mario Cristobal remarked how the freshman was one of those guys who would want them to turn the lights back on so he could play another hour.

If Herbert can develop the trust with him that he has with Jake Breeland and Jaylon Redd, this offense could really take off.

Juwan Johnson was wide, wide open on a crossing route on one of the plays where JH tried to fit the ball in a narrow wndow deeper downfield.

Some deeper strikes and explosion plays would really enhance what they're trying to do, open things up for the run.

Loved that little delay route to Breeland for the big gain working across the field. That was a nice, high percentage play.

The touchdown pass to Redd was beautifully designed. Two grown-man blocks for Penei Sewell on that play. Crunched them.

Opening line is Ducks by 22 versus Colorado...LOL.

How can that be when we average 19 points in Pac-12 play???

Obviously I know we have left a lot of points on the field most games but it is becoming the norm versus a fluke. IMO we have got to figure things out, clean things up and get a focus we have not shown on the offensive side of the field.
Our defense is going to keep us in every game but 19 points a game in conference play isn't going to cut it in a couple three of these remaining games...….
4-1 is a great place to be and on paper we have a nice hold on the North Division but we need to get this offense struggle turned around...IMO!
